"So the area seems sketchy. The hotel is a bit rundown. But the staff was really nice and for a cheap overnight stay is wasn’t bad. Slept fine (very thin blanket excluded) but we only needed a place to sleep for a few hours. Served its purpose. Again the staff was super nice"

"The Holbrook Hotel is always a wonderful experience with big, beautiful rooms that are so clean and comfortable. The location is great for downtown and Averett University. Can walk across the street to Crema & Vine (lovely coffee and wine cafe) or down the street to delicious King Cropp for dinner. ..."
