“Nagataki is a compound of several "hundreds of years old" typical houses connected through walkable paths and integrated with nature. You can truly feel the "old" and "nature" vibe all across the property.
The houses being old can get really cold during the winter even with the heaters turned on, so be prepared with warm layers and pajamas so you can have a pleasant night.
You get your own private restroom and bathroom with a soaking tub along with all the amenities you might need.

“A beautiful modern ryokan with friendly and helpful staff. Everything you need to hike the Nakasendo where is comes to a place to stay. Would stay again. ”
“This ryokan was beautiful with a spacious room and great mountain views. The onsen was particularly nice with indoor and outdoor mineral baths, a cold plunge, and a sauna. There was also a private shower in our room if you aren’t interested in the onsen experience. The half board was good but served traditional local Japanese food - great for the adventurous eater but it may not be for everyone. “Un Ryokan sans prétention mais avec un service parfait. Toute l’équipe est adorable, très professionnelle et à l’écoute. Le rapport qualité prix était excellent et le repas du soir délicieux, varié et copieux.”
“We enjoyed our stay at susuranso,
The staff were so helpfull , even organised tickets for komagatake ropeway for us.
The hotel is very clean and has great views of the surrounding mountains.”
“We really enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for a traditional experience this is the place. The village and the hostel in general is very cute. The only downside are the beds (traditional Japanese style) that are not really comfortable, you can hear everyone in the hostel as the room are separated by traditional paper doors. But you meet a lot of very nice people and socially it’s a really good opportunity ”
