“We stayed as a family with two children for one week in July 2025 in this cottage.Good:It’s a spacious cottage set in a well-kept, large garden with a clothesline. The location is great for exploring the coast, Sligo, and the Ox Mountains, and it’s very quiet.There are four bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, and a kitchen with a washing machine. There is ample parking space.The cottage was clean and matched the pictures. The beds were okay.The landlady lives next door and was very friendly;……

“La dame est très gentille, elle donne tous les renseignements que nous lui demandons mais la note de 8/10 pour l’établissement ne correspond en rien à l’état des lieux. Deux chambres sont correctes si on ne regarde pas le ménage, la troisième chambre avec salle de bain, la robinetterie du lavabo ne fonctionne pas. La salle de bain principale, une odeur que même la fenêtre ouverte pendant 3 jours n’est pas partie, et les wc il fallait attendre au moins un quart d’heure entre chaque tirage de……

“We had the most wonderful stay in Katie's Cottage. We met the lovely host Caroline on arrival and we couldn't have gotten a warmer welcome. There was fresh scones with jam and butter and a bottle of wine in the fridge. The house was absolutely immaculate with loads of fresh towels and bed linen. The beds were really comfy and the kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed. The surrounding area is stunning and the cottage was a great base to explore all of this. “We were a party of seven adults and two dogs, visiting family and for birthday celebrations. There was plenty of room in the house and more than enough crockery etc. for our group. The location is great, just a few minutes walk from the beach. We ‘practised’ walking to the Beach Bar on several occasions! Sheila was quick to respond to any queries. And we had two weeks of Irish sunshine. A lovely stay and we would happily return.”

“We were expecting the unrivaled scenery of Ireland. But to be able explore from a cozy remodeled police station was icing on the cake. Every room was clean and well stocked right down to the wood and coal for the fireplace. The hostess was warm and so helpful. We felt like we had known her forever. “After a couple of weeks seeing the UK and Ireland with 9 of our kids and grandkids, we wanted a few days to rest. We loved being in the Sligo area and dining at the nearby Beach Bar. Downpatrick Head was great to see & we even drove to the Giant’s Causeway while we were in the area. Sheila’s house was a nice place to rest and relax. We loved attending church in nearby Screen. A great ending to a great trip!”
