The facility itself is fine. The hotel looks nice. The rooms are pretty decent and comparable to most of its companion properties in the brand of line. However, this is the problem with the north Augusta Crown Plaza. It’s Crowne Plaza prices without all of the expected amenities. What I mean by that is when I had asked for a toothbrush because I had forgotten mine. They didn’t have any they were out, when I went to get Gatorade from their little snack nook, they only had a couple sodas and some odd beer and that was it. They didn’t even have bottled water. Not that I wanted to pay seven dollars for a bottle of water but still. The staff solution was for me to go to the convenience store which meant I had to get in my car drive all the way up there, even though it was a mile or less away.
The other issue I have is that even though it was a pretty busy weekend a lot of people out they shut down their hotel bar about 10 o’clock on a Friday & Saturday, what’s worse is the bartender even cut off the fire pit with a full crowd around.
To be honest, I don’t know if I’l ever stay there again, especially when the Marriott is just across the river and same price if not a little bit more a little bit less. Now the downtown AugustaMarriott is worth it.
