I booked this resort for my wife and I's honeymoon. We were there for 10 days. The first day we arrived, we were taken to our room. The room was very humid and smelled like mold. The floors were sticky, and the bed sheets were wet. My wife called the front office, and they told her that they could send someone to refresh the room. That's when I got on the phone and told them we would prefer being moved to a different room. They agreed and we started heading back. On our way back to the lobby, no one picked us up. We had to walk with our luggage in the heat. Keep in mind we were both very tired and my wife's feet were very swollen. (Our wedding was the previous day). They did accommodate us in a new room to our liking. Fast forward to a couple of days later, we had a reservation at The Gran Tortuga. The food tasted good, but that night my wife and I got food poisoning. We both had diarrhea, stomach cramps, gas, and body aches. These symptoms persisted for 2-3 days. I called the lobby, and they brought us a plate of fruit. They did not offer any kind of over-the-counter medication. I had to go to the lobby shop myself and buy some Pepto Bismol. After that, the lobby employees contacted me because they keep track of the medicine sold at the shop. This was about 2 days after we had gotten sick. We met guest services, and they asked if we were okay or needed medical assistance. By this time, we were already feeling better, so there was no need. They did not offer any compensation.
