Exclusive villa opposite Akureyri

This exclusive villa is very well situated just opposite Akureyri. It is rented by celebrities but also by other people who enjoy the location and the high standard of the house. It was built by the Icelandic architect Fanney Hauksdottir in 2006. It was recently refurbished with high-quality equipment such as ReVoX audio equipment as well as with attractive materials such as walnut, shale and glass.

The house is surrounded by a 16'000 m2 garden and a security fence. An alarm system and cameras ensure safety for the guests. Any kind of additional service is available on request.

During winter snow drifts may block road access to the house. The road to our fence and the driveway is not maintained during winter time. In this case a short walk (400 meters) is necessary. We just finished 6 nights at Hrafnabjorg. This was our second stay at this particular home. Everything was clean, the kitchen was well-stocked, it was fun to have a hot tub to relax in each night and the views of the fjord and Akureyri are spectacular. We were 3 adults & 2 kids. We highly recommend it!

If you are on the fence about booking this property or think that it is fake or too good to be true you are wrong. It is absolutely fantastic!!! One of the best places we’ve stayed in our travels. The views are epic, especially if you are there in the winter and see the northern lights from the windows or the hot tub. It is quiet, private, great location to Akrueyri, the diamond circle, Húsavík and so many other places in the north. We loved the heated floors, the hot tub, the steam room, the automatic window shades, the tub, just everything about the house is top notch. So, book it now :)

Das Haus, die Lage, die Aussicht, die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter. Bewertung: 15 von 10Polarlichter an 5 von 6 Tagen über dem Haus, und in fast allen Richtungen vom Garten aus zu sehen, sogar vom Wohnzimmer, roter Sessel. Der Platz um Polarlichter zu sehen.

Wir wollten uns als Familie (3 erwachsene Kinder) etwas Besonderes gönnen und gemeinsam die Nordlichter und den Isländischen Winter erleben.Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.Nordlichter aus dem Hot Pool beobachten zu können, ist schon einzigartig.Die Ausstattung ist gehoben, das Raumgefühl / Design hervorragend und die Aussicht wunderschön.Organisatorisch hat alles sehr gut funktioniert. This was our second visit to this house; we liked it so much when we visited in summer that we thought we’d see what it was like in winter. Once again, we had a fantastic relaxing stay and made the most of the facilities in the house, the views from the living room and Akureyri. The accommodation is of a very high standard with lots of space and it is kept spotlessly clean. A lot of overnight snow on our final night required a little digging to get the car out and back onto the road. We’re not used to these kinds of conditions, which added to the whole experience so we a third visit is now on our future plans.

The pictures are a tease. They don’t do this place justice. This house is excellent. The architecture, the views, the property and the infrastructure all work together for a seamless experience. Checkin was painless, the provided instructions thorough, the location impeccable. One of the best VRBO’s we’ve ever rented (and we’ve rented more than a few, all over the planet). If you’re looking for a rental in Akureyri, this should a place you’re definitely looking at. Just not when I’m going. ;-)

We absolutely loved our stay here! The house was comfortable and had everything we needed, as well as extra thoughtful touches. The views were absolutely incredible! On our first night the aurora were out and we just turned off all the lights and watched from the living room- it was magical. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer!

Overall the house did not disappoint. It was as listed, so much so it seemed like a dream. The beds were extra comfy, the kitchen was perfectly stocked, the shower and hot water were perfect. In the midst of a modern home, it still felt cozy. The best part of the house, the view. The view from every single room was spectacular. No TV, no problem. It also was very secluded (yet accessible). We were concerned about arriving in a bit of snow but with an expert driver and 4WD vehicle we made it. It gave a very snowed in vibe and that’s what we wanted. The heated pool outside was by far the best feature of this house. Every night we took a dip and even caught a glimpse of the northern lights. We ran into a little confusing with check in and both Thom and Annette responded very quickly. We would all stay here again. PS - Forest Lagoon is super close and cannot be missed if staying at the house.

The location was incredible - the most stunning views and easy access to Akureyri and surrounding areas. We visited Husavik, Grenivik, Hauganes, and Myvatn area. This property overlooks the fjord below it, Akyureryi across the bay, with snow capped mountains behind the city in the distance. Truly stunning views. And everything about the house itself is 5 star. Right down to the coffee maker! Loved sitting in the geothermal hot tub overlooking the city and the mountains. This is the kind of place where, if you don’t feel up to touring, you’ll be perfectly content just looking out through the vast windows.

We stayed in the villa for six days with our entire family, and it was one of the most luxurious homes we've ever booked. The view of Akureyri, especially at night, was breathtaking.
