I would rate this hotel as Very Good, but it is not a 5 star property - more like 3.5-4 stars.
We stayed in the villas which were clean and spacious with good facilities (kitchenette, cooking utensils etc) but tired and needed refreshing (i.e curtains with torn lining, varnish worn through on chairs and table, rusted clothes rack etc).
The staff were largely lovely however encountered a few who were quite rude unnecessarily (Atlantico Restaurant manager completely ignored my mum patiently waiting to be seated and then when we tried to get his attention he barked at us that we needed a reservation - we had just arrived. Also, an employee dropping off room service aggressively said "you don't need to see the receipt, what did it say when you ordered" when I asked the cost of the items... after we had waited 1.5 hours for a chocolate mousse and english breakfast tea. In a true 5 star hotel, for that level of service, the items would have been gratis with an apology).
Shoutout to Marco, Victor and Nicholas who were lovely and made up for it.
Also, free transport to the old and new town was brilliant and much appreciated! Coach driver was ace!
We really enjoyed the location and beaches and will return but with clearer expectations.
