“We frequently stay in holiday properties and so know what you can get for £140 / night and sadly this was not up to the standards we would expect. The cottage is lovely, in a lovely sertting but it is very damp with mould around the windows and mildew on the curtains. It was not clean, the tiles in the bathroom were mouldy, under the furniture were dead woodlouse and other remnants of insects, cobwebs everywhere and the lavatory off the main bedroom was very poorly cleaned. “This cute little cottage was perfect for my 9 day stay while visiting my family in the Potteries. Equipped with everything you need! Comfortable bed, quality linens, full size bath sheets (not postage stamp sized towels!) and lovely bistro set outside to sit and admire the stunning view of the Congleton Viaduct and The Cloud. Property owner Brenda was a perfect host. After a long journey from Canada, I arrived to a welcome card, fresh flowers and milk in the fridge with a check in to make sure……

“Check in was a disaster. They didn't communicate through email any check in instructions, they use an App that I don't have or use. Once we cleared that up it took almost an hour from the time I got the the property to figure out their demands to get an expensive deposit made until I could get a code to get into the place. The management company the owner uses for check in is a disaster. Poor customer service, didn't respond to most emails. The place itself is small and basic which is fine.……

“We decided to stay at the cabin as it was relatively close to Alten towers. The location was beautiful, peaceful and exactly what we were looking for. On arrival we noticed there was a code lock but hadn't got a code to open the door. I called the owner and she was abrupt and gave me the code. The kids then wanted to go into the hot tub but found it was hardly bubbling and obviously wasn't working properly. Later that night i noticed there was no logs for the log burner.
