“Our multi-generational family absolutely loved our stay at Fell End. The house was decorated for Xmas and is beautiful throughout. The facilities including movie room, hot tub, table football, table tennis were awesome. The house is homely, warm throughout and stylishly and comfortably furnished! Great value!!”

“We had a week’s stay at Orton Hall in Nell Gwyn Cottage. The front room and bedroom were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped, but it all felt a bit dated. The grounds were lovely, but unfortunately it rained every day we stayed there, so we couldn’t really explore them. However, we did discover a chocolate factory in the village which we very much enjoyed, as well as a very tasty cafe for a full English breakfast nearby. It’s centrally located for visits to both the Yorkshire Dales……

“Great little cottage, definitely remote (but easy to find) and with a lovely wild little garden, albeit it shared with the next door cottage, so care is needed when letting dogs (and children)! in and out. Was very well appointed although we had a couple of little niggles, being a loose toilet roll holder downstairs and we found it very dusty and would definitely benefit from a top to toe bottoming with a damp cloth, surfaces, inside cupboards etc. Finally we weren't overlly keen on the lack of……

“We had a wonderful 5-night stay at the cottage over New Year. It is small and cosy and set in a small village overlooking fields and hills. The sunrise in the morning is beautiful. The kitchen has everything you could need to cook meals and there is a large Sainsbury's about 10 minutes drive away to stock up on provisions. The Herdwick Inn is a great local pub about 10 minutes walk away (take a torch if dark!) and 5 minutes drive away is a llama cafe and farm shop, Basecamp. The main hiking……

“The house was everything we needed, opposite a pub and the swimming pool. The villagers were very friendly and helpfull, especially in the swimming pool. Unfortunately the internet stopped working on the third day but the rental company responded out of hours to help sort it out..”

The owner Geoff sent us a welcome email and assured us that we could contact him anytime if we were concerned about anything. There was no need! “We were a party of 10, getting together to celebrate the 60th birthday party of 2 family members. The house was beautiful, plenty of room for everyone, although to be honest we spend most of our time in the cosy but large kitchen and adjacent games room. Many period features allowed you to really experience how they used to love. Kirby Stephen high street was a stones throw away, making it convenient for local shops and pubs. Would highly recommend for a large family get together”

“Property is well equipped and comfortable, in a stunning location at the bottom of the valley. Beautiful walks from the door. Visiting the on-site and fascinating Vindolanda roman ruins and museum is an absolute must when visiting here (this is not dog friendly). Would highly recommend this property for anybody looking for great walks from the front door, a pub reasonably close (around 30 mins walk on very quiet road) with great food and dog friendly (Twice Brewed Inn), a cosy woodburner for……
