This is a nice hotel within walking distance of everything you would want to see in central Amsterdam. The rooms were still in a good condition from the refit. But you can see a few areas where if maintenance isn't performed it will start to accumulate. Small cosmetic damage that is to be expected in a busy, fully booked hotel. We didn't partake in the €19 breakfast as it did seem a little expensive. So I can't comment on the quality of that. The staff were great, the rooms are as advertised and the location is ideal if you are on a cultural stay. I will look to stay in one of the groups properties in other cities again. Can't say fairer than that.

We loved Citadines. It served as our base for exploring the city. Definitely glad that we opted for the spacious studio. Plenty of room and it has a bigger bathroom than the typical European hotel. The staff was friendly, English speaking, and the on premises laundry with everything included was a plus. No one wants to travel home with soiled laundry. It’s also centrally located and a hop skip and jump to the Reikj, Heineken, Dam Square, and 20 min walk to central Station.

The place itself is a nice hotel. However for the amount you pay for stay, there are bigger options in surrounding areas. The rooms are small. The bathroom size is also small. If I bring my elbows up, they would touch the walls. There is no ventilation in the bathrooms. We had to leave the window open and keep the bathroom door open to let fresh air inside the room and the bathroom. The daily breakfast options are the same everyday. There are hot foods, cheeses, baked goods and granola bar. There is unlimited complimentary tea and nice coffee machine with options which is a nice touch. There’s workout room with new equipment, a conference room and a nice lounge which came handy for us to spend our time during the days between the sightseeing’s and dinner plans. The property is close to different eatery options with 5-10 minutes away.

We always book an extra night before we arrive in Amsterdam because our flight arrives really early in the morning from Canada, so we want to make sure that when we land we can go straight into a room that is waiting for us instead of waiting for check in at 3 or 4 pm. I always call ahead of time and inform the hotel we will be checking in late so not to mark us as a no show as I did this time as well. Except this time they thought they could make some extra money by giving our already paid for room to someone else before we show up. Lo and behold when we arrived at the hotel our room was not available. Not only did they give our paid for room away but they also didn't seem to care whatsoever about the inconvenience that presented us with. Tired from a full night of flying (and being awake) the last thing we want to do is wait for a room that was supposed to be waiting for us already and arguing with hotel staff as to why it is not ok. Very disappointed in the customer service on this.

Absolutely beautiful hotel and outstanding staff on reception there to greet you every time. We booked the Superior Room and it was perfect, spacious and exceptionally clean. A little noisy on the street at the night but would not put us off next time and we are already looking to book again this year!
