Overall the hotel has a really cool design, the room is spacious, the amenities especially the shower gel and shampoo smelled maginificiant. However throughout the 3 nights I stayed there, there were constantly ‘knocking sounds’ on the wooden wall behind the bed which made falling asleep difficult. Told the reception about the situation and was told this happened very often and they had no idea on the solution. The other thing was that I sent an email to the hotel, the response was so slow that I didn’t receive a reply until the day I checked in which was pretty disappointing.

This hotel is in a good location and not too far from the train station when wanting to get to Central Amsterdam, etc. There is a McDonald’s right outside the hotel and a few other shops which was very handy. The hotel room was very comfortable and clean. The only issue we had was there was no iron in the room and it’s a bit of an inconvenience having to leave your room every time to go and iron clothes on the second or third floor. Also, the AC in the room doesn’t get hot enough or cool enough therefore the room can almost feel stuffy at times. I would definitely stay again for the price you can’t go wrong. The staff were really friendly. Also, you don’t have to worry about bringing your own umbrella because the hotel allows you to rent umbrellas and also bicycles, which is so handy!

Do not vape in the rooms unless you’d like a £150 fine. Nowhere did it say we couldn’t use vapes and we did it in the hotel room dying our whole stay then somehow set off a silent fire alarm on our 4th day of our booking. Staff made us pay £150 immediately while we questioned why vaping is an issue and that we were never told/ no signs saying no vapes. Shocking

My stay at the Ruby Hotel was great. The ambience is so chic and modern. The staff were friendly and welcoming always willing to the help. There was also a restaurant/bar with small bites in the hotel which I didn’t get to try but the menu was always provided when asked. Metro was a 5 min walk, about 3 dinning restaurants within a 5-10min walk. Very quiet and clean area with a lovely marina near by. Just a 10 min car ride to the AMS airport you cannot beat that. About a 15-20 min car ride tops to the center city attractions. But my only concern was housekeeping as they didn’t do a throughly room clean.
