“Perfect base for seeing Golden Bay and Farwell Spit and surrounds.”

“This house in the perfect location and a lovely design. However it's very tired and needs some serious love.If I had paid perhaps up to 400 per night this would have been somewhat acceptable but to pay over 700 night was exorbitant!It was booked a few weeks beforehand which left me with very minimal choice, however the photos left me with the impression that it was a well maintained property.”

“We've just returned from a fantastic 3 night stay at Parapara Heights. The accommodation is absolutely faultless with all the mod cons, good size for the family, clean, dog-friendly and it has stunning views. Mark and Tracey are the perfect hosts (not forgetting Ziggy and Sam the dogs of course!) Always happy to help, but leaving you well alone to relax. The view from the deck is fantastic, with amazing bush before you, Farewell Spirit could be seen in the distance, and the only noises we heard……

“The place was clean and tidy, well set up for a large group. Sadly my Dad and I arrived late at night so didn’t get to really experience the property much but I could imagine it being a wonderful escape for a big family or group of friends to enjoy. Walking distance to shops, cafes and the local pub/restaurant as well as the Farewell Spit tour company (which is why we were late arriving). “Looks great online but the reality was quite a disappointment. The cabin was not as well appointed as I had thought given the cost, all a bit cheap and plasticky. The floor was sort of buckled and uneven in places and as such the door was a challenge to close. The container got quite hot as the weather was so good, but there was no air conditioning and no fly screens, so opening the windows meant I had to contend with some big bugs late at night (moths and cicadas). “Such a wonderful part of Golden Bay, close to everything, especially Collingwood, Pakawau and incredible Wharariki Beach and Farewell Spit. Great bach which comfortably accommodated our family. Beautifully located between estuary and beach.”

“Nice house, well maintained and lovely view.The only little recommendation: Some sun protection for the kitchen windows and on the terrace may be a good idea, when the the weather is as nice as we could enjoy it. ”
