This was the worst experience I have had in an hotel. Our flight was cancelled and we needed to book an hotel near the airport. We used Expedia to book this hotel, we received the confirmation email. On arrival there were already people from the airport that had booked too. Once we got to speak to the receptionist, he said our booking wasn’t showing on their system so we couldn’t book the room. I showed him the email and he still wouldn’t book us a room. He said we could book a room directly with them, but couldn’t guarantee that a second payment wouldn’t be taken. He then suggested we take a seat & wait for 30mins to see if the booking came through. I then contacted Expedia via chat, they confirmed the booking & tried to call the hotel on a number of occasions, but they never picked up. After 30mins plus, I spoke to him again & he said the system was now down & there was nothing he could do, even though he was booking in other guests. We eventually got our room key, but this had taken well over an hour & a half. I have never deal with such a rude person at a hotel. The hotel room itself was old, dated & needed completely gutted & refurbished. There were small bugs crawling over the kitchen worktops, & the place felt dirty. We didn’t sleep well as it was very hot with no a/c. We were very happy to be leaving at 6am, even though our flight was not for another 5hrs. If I could give this hotel zero stars I would. Expedia were excellent in helping us.
