“Wonderful, spacious and comfortable property. Very quiet with a beautiful outlook over the countryside. Well-equipped kitchen so great for cooking. Golf courses were all within 20 mins drive, as are the range of supermarkets and shopping in Douglas, and Castletown Links is thoroughly recommended. Port Erin is lovely and we had delicious fish and chips there. A slightly slow draining shower tray and a rather dated TV were the only minor drawbacks but we'd return in a shot! Thanks for having us.”

“Absolutely loved everything about this property, the host Elaine and the Isle of Man. Balladuke farmhouse was exactly as listed, but the extra mile that Elaine goes to for her guests is just outstanding. Would return there in a heartbeat!”

“We enjoyed our stay! Good location on the beach in walking distance of restaurants and relatively easy to park on the street. Friendly staff, and great food at the restaurant. Breakfast was solid too with the option of kippers to go with a full-English-type spread. Would recommend! ”

“Lovely older hotel - lotsa stairs to some of the rooms but not an issue for us. Very nice rooms, comfortable bed, great hotel staff. Great breakfast, great location close to shopping, train and bus, and ferry terminal. Great breakfast and nice restaurant overall.”

“The Sefton is a grand building toward the town centre end of the promenade and about 10 minutes walk from the Sea Terminal and buses to and from the airport stop close by, so very convenient. Check in was smooth. I booked an atrium room which was quiet, modern but not bland. Good bathroom, living area with a balcony. The room was clean and in good order, regular top ups in the tea/ coffee dept; along with complimentary bottled water. The bed was rather firm I thought but I slept well. Breakfast……

“Fantastic location, the place itself was incredible. The kitchen/living room was huge, very spacious, big windows so lots of light and very well equipped. Private and out of the way. Bedrooms and bathrooms were an excellent size, well equipped, and very clean. Beds very very comfortable. The area was very quiet, convenient (bus stop nearby, trains within walking distance, shop within walking distance although a hill to get there but that didn't bother us at all). “It's a very clean hotel, the ownership is very friendly and helpful. It is not a modern cookie cutter hotel or building. It is the Victorian era. It is not fancy in modern terms. The stairs are steep and narrow, they way they were done at the time it was built. I would like more lighting on them. Breakfasts were good and satisfying. I had plenty of hot water. ”

“The room is clean and tidy. The breakfast is good with different options. The hotel is a little bit far from the ferry pier, it takes about 25 mins to walk there. If you have luggage, you'd better call a taxi, the taxi fare is reasonable anyway. ”

“We had a wonderful stay in the Halvard hotel. The staff were welcoming, and accommodating for our requests. Our room was clean, spacious and had a lovely view of the sea and the promenade. The breakfast was excellent, with good options for hot breakfast that's freshly prepared and a small buffet. The location of the hotel is great, being less than 10 min walk from the ferry passenger terminal, on the sea front and downtown area, and in walking distance to the bus station. “Great location. Right on the promenade and close to the electric tram station. Walk to the other end of the promenade bracing but level. Loved the island. You can see lots by public transport. Get a GO card. Such good value. Beds soft and been well slept in. Breakfast bit disappointing- very traditional. We had a bar meal the night we arrived. Again disappointed. Steak sandwich on plain white bread - ??? We found lots of other fantastic places to eat. ”
