We were highly dissapointed with the hotel property and the hotel. It was bad enough that we asked for a refund from Expedia 15 minutes after checking in. Before I start, let me say this: The staff however, was VERY nice. We reserved the king room with the wrap around balcony, the hotel is located under the Astoria bridge within the limits of the Atoria port authority. Upon arriving at the hotel, we noticed right away that ALL the property around the hotel was run down with old commercial fishing gear, junk ship parts etc. There were people of "questionable character" walking around throughout the parking lots of the property. When we checked in, they gave us a security pass so we wouldn't be towed by the patrolling port authority police. The hotel itself had a LOT of places on the building that were dilapidated and run down including the outside of the office and the overhead hotel sign. When we went to the our room, the room across the hall had a piece of tape on the door with handwriting that said " Beware of Cats" and the door was partially opened. The king room inside was VERY (1980s) dated, the carpets smelled very musty and moldy (however they seemed clean), the bed was high at the foot end and tilted to one side, the bathroom was questionable, and the outdoor furniture was all rusty. There was a panoramic view of the harbor but not very nice. We went back to the office and asked for a refund. They were nice and said okay.. I don't recommend this hotel..

Room was decent but check-in was not good. Arrived around 12pm even though 4pm official check in. First time asked if any rooms available yet. Was told few rooms available. So got lunch and went to museum. Came back around 3pm no rooms available come back at 4pm. Then arrive 15mins prior to 4pm. Was different desk person that refused to check anyone in until 4pm. This resulted in 30 guest waiting in the lobby as one person processed check-in. I wouldn't not recommend this place due to bad customer service.

I was a little nervous when we drove up, looked a little rundown. But the room we had was decorated very cute, was quiet, and the marina was beautiful off the balcony.

Shortly after checking in, the toilet was having plumbing issues. I contacted the front desk and was told maintenance was only available in the event of an emergency, but that I could come down and get a plunger. After plunging the toilet for 10 minutes, there was no change so I again called the front desk only to be told the only option would be to change rooms. I declined and continued plumbing for another 20 minutes, at which point I solved the issue. On our third day here, I called down to request housekeeping services since they only come upon request, Jasmine stated that no housekeeping services were available, which was a bummer because I was traveling with my toddler. I asked if someone could bring towels, garbage bags and washcloths, and was told no that I could come get those items myself if I needed them. Jasmine seemed quite preoccupied with entertaining her male friend at the desk instead of providing quality customer care. The other desk agent was great, though I didn’t get her name, she did make sure to have a fan delivered to our room and water was provided upon request. Overall the room was clean and quiet, but I’m not sure I would choose this property again.

The building desperately needs updating but our room was clean and comfortable. We had great views of the bridge and beautiful sunset from our room. The staff were wonderful. The location is perfect for our needs - close to trolley stop, dining, and Riverwalk trail. This is our third time staying here in the past 9 years, and we’d stay again in the future.

The staff was welcoming and tried to be helpful. Our first room was dated but clean and roomy. There were 2 occasional chairs which is always appreciated when there are two people in the room. There was a problem with getting the TV to work. Even the staff person was at a loss to get it to behave in terms of channel selection and west coast times. We were given a new room but found that the fan in the bathroom was so clanging that we opted to go back to the original room. Breakfast was adequate. The property is by a marina with all rooms having a water view and balcony. It does need some maintenance that would make this a much nicer facility.

The view from the units is great and the location is very convenient However, this hotel is running down. The building/site is settling most likely due to tidal influences, making floors not level, doors not squared off and thus drafty. etc. Upgrades were lacking for the bathroom (degraded mirror, toilet that doesn't flush adequately, shower that leaks, etc.). The beds are too old and uncomfortable to sleep in. In the breakfast area the warm foods are mostly processed foods (round eggs, sausage patties, packaged waffles, etc.) and there is not enough eating room for the busy seasons. Also, unless asked for and paid extra, daily clean up of rooms does not occur. This used to be a good place to stay but management has let it degrade. So sad.

I couldn't have loved my stay here more - the view of the marina was just beautiful. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable and the sheets crisp. The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast had good strong local coffee and Bob's Red Mill oats to start the day. It was an excellent home base to explore and enjoy Astoria from.
