Let me first start off by saying, this hotel is a joke and should be shut down. The check-in process was a ridiculous by any means.
I called ahead weeks before, to confirm our room, which was good. I was thinking this would be an easy process. I also asked them if they were fine with American Express, which they said they were. So all things are good, right, not necessarily.
Arrived on-site, got to front desk, my Amex was declined….very baffled by that since the credit limit should be substantial enough. Tried again, no luck. Called Amex to see what was going on, they could not see the transaction attempts so my thoughts are that their system may be down, seems legitimate right? Front desk attendant called his manager I guess, could not understand what they were saying because they were speaking some foreign language, which is another problem. (Very rude to not speak English when you have an English speaking customer, feel like I am at a disadvantage here.)
The front desk attendant hung up with the so-called manager and told me that I needed to try another card or go get cash, but yet could not get me an answer as to why my Amex was not working. I could see on the machine that Amex was one of the products that could be used.
Again, the front desk attendant called his manager, same thing. After the third call, we later learned that they do not take Amex, well, they could have said that in the beginning.
Overall check-in was terrible.
