The room is modern, the bedding is comfortable, the shower is great with two sets of showers in the bathroom. It has the best amenities. The breakfast is in a nearby cozy restaurant, very good. The front desk is friendly. Good location.

I highly, highly recommend this hotel! The staff gave us a very good first impression. Mattina met us with a huge warm smile. Andreas and Nick were always welcoming and accommodating. The area is quiet but two short blocks either direction and you are either on your way to the Acropolis or in the middle of souvenir shopping in the Monastiraki square. Syntagma is 10 mins away, and you have rooftops bars within 5 mins walking distance. No need to rent a car. Monastiraki train station is about 10 mins away, Syntagma station about 15 mins. That is if one does not get distracted by the souvernir shops. It’s a boutique hotel so no big lobby and no pool but the whole building is very clean. Housekeeping can clean the room everyday if that’s your choice. Toiletries were more than adequate, I barely had to use the ones I packed. The room on the small side but more than enough for two. The beds were comfortable. They do not have a dining area and breakfast was in a restaurant around the corner, so not a buffet. But the food was healthy, delicious, and the portions were generous. Will definitely stay at Esse Athens the next time we visit.

Fint, moderne og kjempegod service

Vi var kjempefornøyd med oppholdet vårt. Sentralt, fint og moderne rom. Frokost spiste vi på restaurant like ved hotellet, som vi likte godt. Service var så flott, alle som jobbet der var veldig hyggelige og snakket godt engelsk. Vi anbefaler absolutt dette hotellet.

The best hotel to stay in Athens

This hotel is not only a stunning boutique hotel at the heart of Plaka district in Athens, it also is the best in term of service and experience. The staff is absolutely wonderful and helpful, always wanting to make your trip perfect. They have recommendation for everything and it is very easy to go around given the location. The breakfast is delicious and the hotel is just super modern and stunning. In short, highly recommended!!!

My wife and I stayed at Esse hotel in the Plaka neighborhood for 3 days/2nights during the 1st part of our trip to Greece. It is a small hotel with a small lobby and tiny elevator but the service here is tremendous! If you are looking for a boutique hotel experience, this will not disappoint. The room itself is not big but it is well designed with luxurious features and thoughtful touches. Everything worked perfectly from the motorized blinds to excellent hot water and strong water pressure. Our room had a nice private balcony with an adjustable heat hot tub that is kept warm and has terrific view of the Acropolis. The neighborhood is very walkable to nearby attractions and their included breakfast is at an amazing restaurant around the corner. Highly recommend Esse for great accommodations in Athens.
