Standards have slipped at The Fable who, by the way, are still advertising 24-hour room service which actually ends before 9 pm (who knows what happened to their overnight menu; we were lucky to get the restaurant's leftover desserts). Excited by an upgrade to the junior suite, we were disappointed enough by worn upholstery, grubby shower, suspect aircon, & broken bathroom extractor fan to request a downgrade. Luxury king was a much nicer experience but, again, the cleaning team had been neglecting shower floor and corners for some time, ugh. The jacuzzi was broken, with edging peeling away from the seats. Some creative soul had stashed multiple lifted tiles decoratively in a corner. Be prepared to try reception two or three times to get an answer :( Hopefully this is unique to Auckland and other Fable properties remain a unique & glamorous treat.
