My experience practically mirrors that of Andy M who posted on July 15, down to the excuses of a party of tenants who just left and broke the furniture (a 2nd time I guess?) and unkempt yard from the “recent” storm. As we rented partially for the backyard and our pets it was especially frustrating that there was zero grass, despite assurances otherwise when I booked, and the yard just wasn’t pleasant. The sad part is the property has a lot of potential to deliver what was promised…

The property was nice and as described. There were a few minor maintenance issues like loose or damages boards on thd patio decking or handrails, and the previous tenants damaged a few things before we checked in. But the host was on top of the situation ans called ahead to let us know that a few things we damaged the night before but that they were aware it wasn't our fault. He had a few grocery items, like basic paper goods, delivered to the house within an hour of check-in. I never could figure out the wifi. The kitchen had a good set of pots and pans but lacked a can opener, which was odd but we got by with a pocket knife. We have family in the area and this was sort of an experiment in accommodations for when we come go visit. We will definitely try ro get this property agaon for the next time!

Initially, I was excited to celebrate a catered birthday party for my fiancée; but there were a number of issues with the space and our access to it that made the experience difficult and stressful. I expected to check in at 3pm and have around four hours to set up and cater the before the 7pm party. I was supposed to receive the door code for check-in the day before the booking but never saw it or any mention of check-in at all. I eventually had to call the property owner with less than an hour before my check-in; when they called me back they told me that the house hadn't been cleaned from the last stay at all. We ended up letting them clean the space until 4:30 and then we had to come in and start preparing. The cleaner had to work until past 6:00, which of course is not her fault, but was just a difficult start to the stay. Our main issues came from the backyard / pool space area, which we felt was very misrepresented on the listing. The cowboy pool was unusable. Dirty, half-filled, cover half-submerged in the water.One guest sat down on the bench in the backyard, and the back leg immediately broke off. He tumbled backward and luckily didn't get injured from the fall. The grill was gross - had to be scrubbed for a long time before it could be used, although we had to purchase the cleaning materials ourselves because none were available. Additionally, garage door was unusable due to a wasp nest. Would have included positive feedback but at the end of character limit. WNR

Providing a generous review. Family of of 4 stayed at this property for 5 nights. It has great potential, but it came up very short of what was pictured and promised. At the co-owner's request, I tried to work with him on a reasonable reduction, but his promise for renumeration went unfulfilled. My belief is that this property was a flip, and they are undercapitalized. We've rented from VRBO several times and this fell well short. The positives:1) Spacious2) Located in close proximity to downtown3) 2 bathrooms4) Relatively comfortable beds5) Onsite parking6) Air conditioning works okayThe negatives - too many to list. Arrived in Austin to learn that the home was damaged, supposedly by a previous renter ("frat party"). Furniture was broken (living room couch, 1 of 4 chairs in dining room (one of us had to eat at the bar & lawn chair). Backyard and "pool" (primary reason we decided to rent this property) was unkept (owner referenced a storm from 3 weeks prior). Fridge had a broken icemaker and no lights. In a kitchen drawer, there were 4-5 letters from the gas company about issues with the furnace and water heater (we all slept the first night with windows open). Front door was unsafe. Kitchen was lacking glasses, cooking utensils, etc., - only 4 place settings as an example. Spider webs in multiple areas, and dust bunnies in multiple areas.To the owners' credit, they did have DoorDash deliver hand soap (none in bathrooms), toilet paper and ice cube trays.

Had to call owner to find out how to unlock door. Issue was a bad (and unsafe) door jam

Only 2 of the letters from the gas company stating there was a dangerous issue with water heater and furnace (why would you keep these so renters can see); Didn't sleep well first night

Perfect Austin stay

This was my first BnB and it was perfect! The home was clean and beautiful in a great location. Literally minutes from downtown and the venue visited. 13 Uber ride. Amazing stay overall!!!

Super cute house!

This is a really cute house. It was plenty of room for our seven people. Very clean with modern decor. Nice shower and great location! It was easy to communicate with the host. They were very responsive. We would stay again!
