“Lovely cabin in the woods, came with all the little extras you often don't think to pack (e.g. towels, condiments, cleaning products, books, DVDs, toys, baby equipment etc). Can't help but relax here, especially on the veranda in the evening, which has a patio heater if needed. No wifi & 6km from town meant my kids aged 15, 13 & 4, took to exploring the woods, finding frogs, playing games, watching DVDs with family while 'home'. “Lovely character cottage and lovely host. We didn't get any check-in instructions but our host popped out to greet us when we arrived (late) and showed us quickly around so it was no problem. Very well equipped which made for a relaxed stay.”

“We had a lovely stay in this house. Situated on the river, it was a nice and peaceful retreat. We were an extended family of 6 (all ages) and this house and surroundings suited us all. Close to Belturbet, Cavan town, Ballyconnell etc. I found this house well situated as a base for travel slightly further afield. Contact with the host, Anita, was easy and prompt. We had great fun with the pool table also. Great for all the family”

“The kitchen has a good range of tools and equipment. A popcorn maker was provided with a complimentary packet of popcorn to try (which we did not). Although not in the description I read, there was an air fryer provided which we did try and found useful (we do not have one at home).
There was also a coffee maker and there were coffee pods supplied which my wife made full use of! And there was a proper tea pot supplied and backup tea bags were available.

“We had a great time. The Old School House was an excellent choice for us. It was pet friendly with lots of outdoor space for our 2 dogs to explore. It was clean and very comfortable with all we could need to be a great home from home. Would recommend this accommodation for anyone looking for a rural, quiet, spacious getaway.”
