Ski Resort, Grandfather Mountain, Mile High Swinging Bridge, Grandfather Mountain State Park, and Appalachian Ski Mtn.

This retreat is ideal for small families and groups looking for a well-equipped place to stay. Enjoy a bright open floor plan that seamlessly combines all living spaces into one - perfect for entertaining! Wind down in front of the gas fireplace in the living room and watch a fun show or movie on the smart TV with streaming and cable, or pull out any of the provided board games for an entertaining evening at home. The kitchen is fully appointed with all the essentials, including all stainless steel appliances. Mountain and ski views are one of the main draws! Additional perks include an on-site washer/dryer.

Great view

This place has a great view of the whole town of Banner Elk and you can even see sugar mountain ski resort from the window, but finding the parking spot for our unit was hard and the steps were so icy it was very dangerous getting in and out of the place but other than that it was a great weekend stay!

At first glance the home looked as described. However, the first thing we noticed were blood stains on the bedspread in the master bedroom. I contacted the manager immediately and although very apologetic nothing was done to rectify until the day we left I received a message that they were providing a small credit for our troubles. I did a lot of washing before we were comfortable. We realize the area was hit hard with the recent storm which is why we tried to cancel immediately after we booked (less then 10 days) because we were going during Christmas and was worried there would be damage. Which there was. They refused to provide a refund which we thought would have been reasonable especially due to the situation and since it was so early after booking. The house ceiling had a huge crack across the entire thing, and paint was falling from the master bathroom. Obviously livable but not at all what we paid for. If you are looking to cook, this is not a very well stocked home for cooking. We had our dog with us as well, and it was hard to find areas for her to use the bathroom. The nice part was being close to town. My family skied and enjoyed that. Again, not terrible but not worth the money in my opinion.

Great location and views but in need of TLC

Great location and served the purpose for a last minute rental but would. It stay again. Huge crack in kitchen ceiling, WiFi does not work, wall jack is broken, so cannot watch TV. Popcorn ceiling in main bath is falling down. No pillows in third bedroom, had to put spare pillow case over the decorative pillows.

Great location and cozy lodging

My family and I enjoyed this spot! Very spacious inside and the location has easy access to downtown Banner Elk by foot (as long as you don't mind 1 steep hill). The manager was very communicative when we had questions. We would stay again!

Holiday getaway

Overall we enjoyed our stay….Pros: location is within walking distance to downtown Banner Elk, nice views, modern kitchen, laundry, dog-friendly, nice main bedroom and hardwood floors throughout. Cons: Parking is on a narrow steep incline with a steep dropoff on one side of car. Third bedroom only has a small uncomfortable futon with a metal bar in the middle, fridge has bad odor, 2nd bathroom’s sink stopper was stuck, views are nice but hiding behind 7 sets of blinds.

Nice Condo with unbeatable view

The condo itself is very nice and perfect for us during move-in weekend at the college. While not perfect it more than met our needs. However, the view from the den and the patio area could not be beat. Absolutely breathtaking view of Banner Elk below and Sugar Mountain in the distance. What little time we did spend at the condo was mostly spent enjoying that view.
