Schön, aber einfach viel zu teuer

Sehr extravagantes B&B mit tollem Service (schon eine Nummer zu "fein" für unseren Geschmack" Ein tolles Gebäude aus dem 19.JH. Super ruhig & edel. Daher ein Punkt Abzug bei der Gemütlichkeit. Man möchte (& könnte) sich zu Hause fühlen, aber alle Gäste schleichen nur umher & jeder flüstert. Wenn einem erklärt wird was zum Frühstück in welcher Reihenfolge kredenzt (erst Obst, dann Pancakes) wird fühlt man sich schon recht seltsam. Negativ Punkt: Obwohl wir über Hotels.com eine Suite für 320,-€ (1 Nacht) gebucht hatten (laut Hotels.com für 4 Erwachsene + 2 Kinder) bekamen wir $40 extra für unsere Tochter berechnet. Sie schlief mit in unserem Queen Bett, ohne extra Bettzeug & frühstückte auch nicht. Mit lokalen Steuern & Gebühren kostete unser Übernachtung so fast $450 Als ich beim Auschecken unseren Ansprechpartner im Anwesen damit konfrontierte war die Antwort das das wohl der Inn-Keeper veranlasst hat & ob es denn wirklich ein Problem wäre. Man war offensichtlich sehr verwundert das jemand $50 extra kritisch hinterfragt & auch nicht geneigt das zu beheben. Schade, ich habe in 12 Jahren & super vielen Hotels in Amerika niemals etwas für unser Kind im eigenen Bett zahlen müssen.

A B&B Even We Loved

Normally my wife and I are not big bed and breakfast people. However, Harbour Cottage had some of the best reviews in the Acadia National Park area. We gave it a try and we are so glad we did. The Inn Keeper, Arlo, was very helpful with advice on trails. The Owner, Don, was friendly and helpful with tour and restaurant recommendations. The Inn is located on the "quiet side" of the island, which was a blessing for us because we were able to avoid the bustle of Bar Harbor in the mornings and evenings. You are still within half an hours drive of just about everything within Acadia National Park, but this location gives you peaceful place to rest at night.

Lovely old converted house with a nice porch and lawn. Good location just steps from the harbor which has a great lobster house which is really the reason to go to Maine anyway.

A Great Place

Service was excellent! The front desk staff were very friendly and happy to recommend nearby restaurants, things to do etc. Our room was comfy and charmingly decorated. The location was within walking distance to downtown. Breakfast was served at your table in 2 courses, with a bountiful fresh fruit salad cup, a scone/biscuit, a beverage of your choice, followed by a hearty breakfast entree with a protein side. All food was artfully presented and delicious!

Helpful and out of the busiest parts of town

The proprietor was helpful in suggesting what to do in our time frame. We enjoyed that it was on the south side of Bar Harbour...slightly less "tourist-y"

Very nice large band b. Comfy bed. Very clean. Really good breakfast. Located in a less congested area than Bar Harbor but only a 20 minute drive. Much less touristy qhich we really sprinted.
