“The restaurants, especially Oro, were excellent. We did not like the hard sand beach (not soft Caribbean) and very rough surf that made going in the ocean unpleasant.”

“Hidden Gem is a perfect place to relax and just hang by the pool, or recline on the deck facing the ocean. It is not a place where you can step out the door and be on the beach or at a restaurant. If you have a car, Miami Beach is 5 minutes away. We went to Oistens (5 min by car) on a Thursday night and really enjoyed our fish dinner. (The guide books make it sound like it is only on Fridays. “This was our second stay at Meridian Inn and it was just as we remembered. Fantastic location, just at one end of The Gap, but quiet. Close to Dover beach, surf lessons, and many restaurants. “If you're looking for a comfortable bed, clean room and can tolerate a drizzle of a shower (even after they sent someone to fix it), this is a great place to stay. Safe, steps from a beautiful clean beach with chairs and umbrella included, nice and helpful staff. Good restaurant and bar onsite, late breakfast or lunches til 6, lots of options nearby too. Right on bus route. Some might not like the bare bones rooms, but we were too busy touring the island or lazing on the beach to care. Would……
