Nice to stay in a non chain hotel
"Old Manor House non chain hotel. Therefore traditional values and great service. Rooms as expected not super swish more quirky but comfortable. Room 19 unfortunately (only) has stand in bath shower with no screen which may not suit all. TV was not working but not an issue on one night stay. Food ..."

"Battle is a very small town; having the helpful hotel staff in the neighborhood is certainly a plus. This building has existed as of the 16th century, and it's been properly maintained and apparently renovated in the toilet/bathroom."
