“We loved the space inside the house. We were four people in total, and it was very comfortable for our two adult children and us to hang out in the living room, breakfast bar, or outside on the patio. The pool was just a few steps from the patio, very clean and comfortable, and very welcome in the hot days in January! There are a handful of restaurants within 10 min. walk, which we took advantage of on the nights we didn’t cook inside the villa. ”

“It is our first visit to Mozambique. Linda helped us with every step from getting paperwork for the visa, airport pickup, ATM, groceries, tours. “The communication regarding the transfer to the apartment was excellent, and the manager was very responsive. The location is beautiful - amazing view of the ocean, close to the beach, nice swimming pool. The apartment was also very clean and the appliances and general amenities were nice. The structure could use some maintenance (window could not shut because wood was swollen, counters cracked...). But with some general maintenance would be very nice.”

“6 of us stayed at Villa 1 at Deacra and the overall trip was pretty good with a few caveats. Positives - The staff were amazing - e.g. Jill tried to find a way for our one veg-only members to find alternates (although avoid vilankulos if you can’t eat fish!), shuttles were organized for us to go to the restaraunts (tuk tuks cost about $5 for a one way trip for 3 people as well) and they were very responsive with any of our queries - The views from the villa are great, and it’s a short 5-10……

“Nach einem Volontäreinsatz in Vilanculos blieb das Team noch für eine Nacht in der Vila do Paraiso. Paradiesisch ist es da wirklich. Der Bruch von der ärmlichen Stadt in diese luxuriöse Umgebung war schon gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber wir wurden sehr herzlich und persönlich empfangen. Der Service war einfach super und das Angebot mit Pool, Strand und Essen ebenfalls. Die Villa war top. Alles in einem super empfehlenswert für einen entspannenden Aufenthalt in einem wunderschönen Land.”

“Villas do Indico was everything I hoped: quiet, relaxed, good food, in a beautiful location. However, you should note that the hotel is 8km from town. I was happy to run/walk along deserted beaches most days to get to town/kite surfing. I then took a ride back. If you are taking rides both ways -- which are charged at around US$20 -- you will run up a substantial transport bill. You have to travel in a 4*4 as the last 3km are unpaved/sand. You can do this cheaper on the back of a motorbike but……

“Wonderful, restored art deco hotel with standard amenities and wonderful staff. Special thanks to Paolo for all his help in arranging transport to Tofo given the political protests. FYI, the hotel is some distance from the main town and ATMs - perhaps 30 minute walk. But the main boat tour operators to Bazaruto will pick you up on the beach in front of the hotel.”
