“What a special bed and breakfast! Vania and Peter have carefully put thought in all aspects of their space. The room was spacious, modern, and cosy, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on. The breakfast in the morning felt like it was made with love. “My family rented 3 rooms in this guest house and it was great. We were able to walk everywhere from it. But, it was nice to hang out in. We had drinks on the terrace, sat in the dinning room at a window that opened onto the canal, and had nightcaps in the library. The woman who was running it was friendly and helpful. When I posted a first photo of the beguinage 2 weeks ago, there were hardly any flowers. Now, in the 2nd week of March, the ground is covered with a sea of daffodils. The 'Princely Beguinage Ten Wijngaarde' with its white-coloured house fronts and tranquil convent garden was founded in 1245. This little piece of world heritage was once the home of the beguines, emancipated lay-women who nevertheless led a pious and celibate life.
