Very noisy street and no a/c

Next to very noisy street and since there is no ventilation nor air conditioning , we have to open windows and couldn’t sleep properly all night. But locations is close to supermarkets, shop, U-bahn.

We stayed at the Garner Hotel Berlin – Schöneberg by IHG. Our room (603) was unfortunately quite far to reach – up to the 5th floor by elevator, then another flight of stairs and through several hallways. However, the room itself was very spacious, though it offered little storage space. Overall, our stay was very pleasant: the staff were very friendly and the location is excellent, perfect for exploring Berlin.

Einige Lampen und Steckdosen haben nicht funktioniert. Mir wurde netterweise mit einer zusätzlichen Stehlampe ausgeholfen. Das Hotel hat ein wenig Jugenherbergsflair, war für ein Wochenende aber okay.

La habitación que nos dieron, reservada para una pareja, era simplemente demasiado pequeña. Se trataba probablemente de una habitación individual, de tamaño de unos 9 m² sin contar el baño. De acuerdo con los estándares este tamaño no corresponde a una habitación para dos personas.De hecho, solamente dejaron juego se toallas y sabanas para una persona. Al ir a indicarlo a la recepción el trato del personal fue algo "burlón", no ofreciendo más solución que pagar por otra habitación que costaba cerca del doble de la que teníamos, reservada varios meses antes. Además, solo se podía acceder a la cama por uno de los lados, debiendo saltar por encima de la otra persona o despertarla. Lo contrario de accesible... Como puntos muy positivos la ubicación y el desayuno, pero en lo esencial que debe proporcionar un hotel que es ofrecer espacio para dormir, directamente no cumple. Puede verse en las fotos el tamaño y en el plano que la habitación es de un tamaño de la mitad o menos de las demás habitaciones. Hasta aquí nuestra experiencia, pero además si se leen otros comentarios se puede ver que no es un caso aislado ya que hay más huéspedes que han tenido problemas con el tamaño y capacidad de las habitaciones, incluso se habla de que a veces el hotel dice que tiene overbooking y no puede dar alojamiento a pesar de haberlo reservado.

We had arrived the the hotel and checked in and taken up to our room, upon arrival at our room we were told that we would get our room key in the morning due to an issue with key cards, this was not communicated by the person at check in only the person who took us up to our room. As we were only staying one night we never did get our room key as we checked out first thing in the morning. The room was spacious and fairly clean, and the beds comfortable. The road was noisy but blocked out when the windows were closed. There was a minimarket round the corner which was useful and a U2 line station over the road.

Hotel molto carino esattamente di fianco alla fermata metro Bulowstrasse. Personale gentile. Pulito e nonostante la camera fosse sulla strada principale era molto insonorizzata. Unica pecca l'assenza di aria condizionata per chi ne fa uso.

We enjoyed the convenience of the location. It was very close to the train stations and lots of great cafes and restaurants around. The room was pretty small and the bathroom was right next to our beds, but other than that it was great.

I got swindled by the blonde girl that works in the afternoon, we were told to pay the city tax as soon as we got there then as we checked out, we had to pay it again. We told them we paid for it when we got there and there was no note of it. We didn’t argue since it was time to go and the receptionist most likely just read what was on the notes. Very inappropriate and very unprofessional, we had a great time around the area but the check out just left a bad taste. Not only that but there was an issue with the toilet paper, had we not had travel wipes then things would have been bad.
