“We are traveling across the country and The Carter Inn is the best place we've stayed! The owners provide many lovely details that made our stay extra special, from homemade cookies to little treats in our room, to a delicious breakfast with multiple kinds of fresh baked bread, fruit, sausage, and eggs made to order. All of that and the room was extra clean and comfortable. 10/10!”

“This hotel is clean & comfortable. It's not fancy. Rooms could use more outlets w/ USB connections. The rate is downright cheap... You won't get breakfast, but most hotel meals are inedible anyway. There are several restaurants in the area and a McD's just down the street. Lots of security camera's with the display on the lobby wall... made me feel that my car was safe. I stayed twice this past week and will on may way through the area in the future. ”

“Beautiful cabin and area! We stayed here for just one night (wish it had been longer). We chose it for its convenience between Mt. Rushmore and Yellowstone. It became a little less convenient when we were forced to change route due to wildfire on other side of mountain. It became very stressful when we had to go over mountain while clock-watching trying to get there before their 7PM check-in deadline, with no cell service to be able to call them. But, as it was, they did provide for us being a……

“This place is very clean and within walking distance to the Mountain Inn bar and a quick drive up the Bighorn Mountains. I was very impressed how clean everything was. The only thing that would have been nicer was if there was a tv for evenings in the winter in the bedroom but it is a perfect place to stay. ”

“Pretty good experience overall. Friendly staff and good service. Buildings are a little worn but function fine. Make sure to read check-in instructions before leaving home because you likely won’t have cell service here. Internet works well once you’ve checked in.”
