The flat is attractive, comfortable and well equipped, and is in a great location for shopping, restaurants, and places of interest - and also for getting to the bus stationt if you plan to use public transport to get around (we did). Checking in and out was hassle-free. If you have mobility restrictions, I'd contact the (helpful) host before booking as the front doorstep is high and slightly hard to balance on. “This location was a great place to stay to explore Orkney. We loved the isolated and peaceful area. Plenty to do and see if you are prepared to drive a few miles. Spectacular cliff top walks with an abundance of bird life. The accommodation has everything you need for a self catering holiday. We stocked up with everything we needed from Tesco in Kirkwall after getting off the ferry. ”

“Withi-Gill was a beautiful cottage in a remarkable landscape -- views of Hoy and Graemsay were beautiful (when the weather cooperated, which was most days), and with a short walk, views of much of the western part of Mainland Orkney, including Stromness. The facilities were great, and the cottage was well-equipped for our needs. There's access to a small beach across the road and down a short track along the former millrun. “This was a pleasant cottage with parking in front. It was nicely decorated and beds were very comfortable.It was five minutes from a co-op food shop which opens seven days a week 7 am to 10 pm. Almost opposite the bus station and a two minute walk to the ferry. Bike hire is available in Stromness. And we had a great day taking the ferry over to hoy, cycling to Rackwick Bay and walking to see the old man of hoy sea stack. The cottage includes a small washing machine which we did use (only……
