“It was early May and we'd had some rain on our trip down from Perth. Sky was grey and a definite chill in the air. So, on arrival, I will say the cottage felt, cold, damp and gloomy at first. The only lighting is large cold white (stark) glaring ceiling lights. No lamps unfortunately. No matter, I whipped out a bunch of tea lights and candles that I had taken with me (thankfully). Mum got the log burner going and we had it feeling cosy and homely in no time. Comfy sofas with massive throw……
