Pretty obvious that beyond paying the bill they didn't care much. Construction at 6 am grinding paint off of the metal. You could hear that noise on every floor and the hotel desk staff were "unsure" if there was construction or not. A glance at any stairwell showed a bunch of them coming and going. It's May 2025, there are many more months of it planned, FYI.
Our 2nd day they were working at 7 am. Staff told us that 7 am is the allowed time in Boston. Ok, maybe that's true, but that is not an ok time for inside a hotel. Next morning they started at 6 am!! Staff don't know anything, manager doesn't know. Really? Sleep is the reason for the room, and they couldn't care less.
Room service sent up used sample sizes with my room service order. I was charged $8.00 Room Service Fee and an $8.00 Room Service Charge. Lame. For a 2nd rate hotel $400 per night is not acceptable.
My friend complained and we were ultimately comped some of our stay. When we went to check out, the counter clerk kept making comments about what a good deal we got and he cant believe our bill, and kept talking through it trying to be convinced. Even though the manager is the one who marked down the bill, he didn't want to accept it. Pretty irritating at every interaction.
They just remodeled but missed opportunities to maximize the space, so lack of horizontal surfaces in the room was really annoying.
