“Its not often that you find a property that exceeds your expectations, but this certainly did. The lodge was beautiful. Extremely spacious and felt like real luxury from the minute you walk in. “We loved every second of our stay in The Barn. Very central for exploring the region and it was lovely to return to a quiet and comfortable home each night. The shower in the bathroom has great pressure and the amenities were everything we needed. Felt very welcome and safe during our stay. ”

“Pond cottage was ideallic, surrounded by beautiful countryside and gardens. The facilities were fantastic and the cottage well insulated. Ducks and geese were fun to watch and little squirrels hopping around the garden. ”

“The house is generally functional but to us it felt a little 'tired' inside. Other visitors may not take the same view of course.The bathroom has a full size bath where a walk-in shower would be much more convenient. The shower cubicle is tiny for anyone of average size. The kitchen is the best room, with all utensils, gadgets and appliances that would be required for a short term stay. The garden is nice with practical garden furniture. “The house was cosy .space outside was amazing with walk in woods wildlife pond. Garden was well equipped with plenty of seating. Peaceful location. Host thought of everything to make our stay a place from home . On hand if need be (but not feeling as if being watched ) Dogs had plenty to sniff everytime we walked around the woods and field.Absolutely amazing just what we needed.”

"Booked a valley castle room w king bed for one night in late Sep. Room was very clean with comfy n up to date decor. Room was big enough and soundproof quality was good. Big garden surrounded hotel n we took a pleasant walk the next day. Should have stayed for one or two nights so as to enjoy swimming pool and other facilities. The historical building was well maintained. Very pleasant stay "

Comfortable hotel
"Stayed here for 3 nights on this trip. A very comfortable stay with exceptional service. The air conditioner in the room stopped functioning, but the staff quickly took care of the matter as soon as we reported it and compensated us with many free drink vouchers; the manager got soaked in the process of fixing the air conditioning but continued to apologise to us for the inconvenience. The staff are very welcoming, and the environment is very relaxing. Will highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit Exeter.
Special thanks to the hotel manager and one of the hotel staff members for swiftly taking care of the air conditioner issue; despite ending up being wet in the process you both have handled the issue with grace and kindness."
