“This was a wonderful home base for our first visit to Vermont. We’ve become avid hikers and nature lovers, so we wanted something a little off the beaten path but with all the creature comforts we needed to unwind after a 12 hour drive there and 12 hour hikes. The hosts were very accommodating, even leaving us a cooler with ice to help keep food cold since there’s only a mini fridge and we stayed 4 days. The property is beautiful and looks like the land around it, which I loved. We slept like……

“This home has it all! Beautifully decorated, cozy fireplace, spacious private surroundings, the BEST claw foot bathtubs, mountain and star views magnificent! We had 12 people and the home’s size afforded us all plenty of privacy. Great stove in kitchen. Plenty of firewood stacked. Off grid living was cool! No TVs! Such a needed break from the seasonal chaos! Highly recommend ❤️”

“This house was perfect for my family as we traveled for a wedding. My two brothers and our family’s got comfortably in this wonderful home that was very close to the venue. We had easy access to all local spots and it had everything we could ask for. Very responsive hosts and all around amazing people and experience. Would recommend!!!!”

“Very rustic which is fine and I'm usually up for. The water is atrocious and needs to be tested. My daughter and I were sick for two days after drinking the water. I have a terrible sense of smell, but noticed it when showering after the first night. Horrible. We left but could not get all the way home (6 hours drive) because of our gastrointestinal issues. We live separately and could not connect any other shared consumptions. Owner is very nice, but does not respond to emails or texts even……

“The long winding driveway through the forest opens to a park-like landscaped vista. Every flower garden, and they are everywhere you look, was in full bloom. Song Sparrow Cottage has a fairytale, idyllic setting. The cottage itself is nothing short of spectacular in its construction and attention to detail. The kitchen was perfectly equipped with everything. One could never tell that this is an "off grid" property. James and Michele were a pleasure to work with. ”
