The stay here was a mixed experience, but ultimately not a great one. Firstly the good stuff. The location is excellent – directly opposite the new casino. Easy walk to everything in the city. The parking was easy and convenient, although there are a very limited number of spaces. The rooms were old school spacious, extremely clean (if anything the smell of bleach was a little too overwhelming), and had everything we needed for a short stay. However, there was one big issue. As you will read in other reviews, there is construction taking place while they renovate the rooms. We woke at exactly 7am with jackhammering taking place not only in the room on one side of us, but also on the other side too. I really couldn’t believe that they thought it was acceptable to sell a room wedged between two construction sites. The noise was so unbearable we decided to leave as quickly as we could. On the lift ride downstairs, as it stopped at other floors, it was obvious the same situation was taking place throughout the hotel, and not just on our floor. I know we didn’t pay a lot for the room compared to other CBD hotels, but I don’t think that was enough to compensate for the situation we faced. For this reason, I give it a poor review overall.
