This place is the definition of "don't judge a book by its cover". The outside makes you think about turning around and trying somewhere else!
Don't...
The staff are wonderful. The rooms are a very good standard for the price, and there's a very decent bar with Sky Sports, or hideaways if you prefer.
The room had crisps and chocolates on display which I assumed we'd have to pay for. None of that. All complimentary!
The view is "ok", assuming you get the even 400's. Looks like they're putting a pond out there, although it was empty. Even saw bunny rabbits right by our window. Boy did they scarper when they saw us!
There's also a pretty decent gym. And a small pool swimmers might be ok with, although it is only 12.5m. Great for a dip with the kids though.
My only grumble is that they wanted a fiver for parking, which is an absolute joke given the location and general state of the car park itself. But seeing as I paid peanuts for the room, I let it lie!
Honestly, it's not going to win awards for beauty. But it ticks all the boxes if you need somewhere cheap to stay nearby.
Oh, and don't get it confused with the Holiday Inn Express down the road. They really need to think about renaming the hotel names for clarity!
Great job guys. Will probably be staying there again when I next visit my son.
