Great Property and views. Needs better upkeep.

The views are gorgeous. The layout of the house is great, especially if you have different couples. The issue is upkeep. I paid premium pricing for this stay and was disappointed. If it had been mid-tier, I would have said this is par for the course. The circuit breakers popped every hour we watched tv in the main living room which was a pain with kids and during the World Series and also popped multiple times upstairs in one of the bedrooms, all kitchen sinks leaked or drained slow, landscaping was not maintained, and the property manager did not run the water before we checked in so there was a sulfur smell until we turned on all faucets for 45 mins. The washer worked but the dryer was broken and the only working dryer was in the basement which was off limits. Also while the home was tidy it could use better cleaning of beetles, spiders, ticks etc. We live on a wooded lot and know the difference between random bugs and lack of thorough cleaning. Bugs were in every room. The owners asked us if we wanted an electrician and a plumber to come by but 1) I kinda feel that not my job to have service people traipsing in on our vacation when we paid a premium price and 2) with small children and us being there three only days, we were not comfortable with that.

This house is absolutely beautiful! Clean and well supplied! The furnishings with all their details were gorgeous. The lake view is spectacular. The communication with the owner and property manager were the best I have had with a Vrbo rental. Thank you for a wonderful get away.

Beautiful views, great location! I didn’t like the additional check in requirements from the Evolve Team. Didn’t receive my access code and was scrambling at the last minute to get in. I would have given 5 stars for cleanliness if not for all the flies and spiders we had to kill.

Beautiful quiet location with incredible view!

Our family and friends totally enjoyed this property for all of it’s comforts and breathtaking views. Any commutations with the property manage were immediately responded to and taken care of. I will rent this property to share with other friends it’s incredible beauty and would recommend to anyone should they have the opportunity!!!

Gorgeous home. Right on the banks of Lake Champlain. Owner and property manager couldn’t do enough.

Spectacular home. Beautifully appointed. Gorgeous views from every window. Quiet but minutes from S. Hero downtown area with restaurants, golf, shops, etc. short drive to Burlington. Owner and property Manager couldn’t do enough to make our experience 5 star. Great stay!!

Great Weekend

My friends and I had a great weekend staying at this beautiful house. Evolve and their property managers were very helpful, accommodating, and quick responding. Made things a lot easier. The house was great, even in the February cold. Spacious kitchen and living room to hang out in. The pool table added to the fun as well. A little less than a half hour ride to downtown Burlington. Thank you for having us, we would gladly stay again!

Great Vacation!

We had a great experience! The view is absolutely gorgeous in the morning! The house is very comfortable and feels like home. We were thinking to go back to Vermont for a couple days in the summer and see this exceptional view again! The house is very spacious and meets all your needs. Just by sitting on the couch we felt refreshed. We really recommend this house!!!

Great weekend away

We had an absolutely amazing time staying here for a girls weekend. The house was super clean and the views of Lake Champlain were breathtaking. We did have one minor problem with the well/pump but the property manager got right back to me and the issue was resolved right away. It’s an amazing property - certainly a hidden gem. We were even dreaming of future trips back to the house maybe in the summer time! The vrbo description should be updated though that there is no yoga room anymore, that was one thing we were looking forward to. Would definitely recommend this house!!!

Great house with an amazing view!

Our week long stay in South Hero was wonderful! The house is too good to be true... spacious, great kitchen for cooking, and lovely sitting rooms and a huge backyard with amazing views of beautiful Lake Champlain. The caretakers met us when we arrived and I know they would have met all our needs IF we needed anything. We didn't!

Heavenly week

We have been renting on Lake Champlain for 5 years, and we have found our perfect house! Beautiful location, and views. Water was heavenly. House very well appointed, w every need met. It felt like a well loved home, and just perfect for our family. The owner was very responsive before our arrival, putting in AC in each bedroom, made sure the dock was installed. He went above and beyond to make our week absolutely fantastic. We were a family of younger children, parents and grandparents. Plenty of room to read, play games, do puzzles during the brief rainy times. Mostly we were outside, swimming, kayaking and biking ( we brought our own) and fishing. This is a must go to. I will book shortly for next year for sure. Thank you Jeff for your lovely home and consideration of our needs. Christine

VT Lake House

Convenient, private location, comfortable, beautiful views, Management, Owner very nice, professional responsive. Our time was July 13th - 20th. Boat dock was not in the water. No place for getting on or off boat no way to get to mooring. No kayaks or canoes available for use. Early morning eve paddle would have been nice. No A/C upstairs "This was noted in listing we just missed it" It was hot for sleeping. Fans were provided but sleeping was tough. We live in FL so we like AC. Basement was unfinished very lonely space. We did not utilize basement space. Looks like they are in process to complete. Deck off the back of home would have been great for hanging out grilling out. ect... Overall the home met the need.

Beautiful residence, peaceful and quiet

Wonderful property with a million dollar view. Owner was easy to work with and house has lots of character and comfort. Location is isolated but easy to get to and from. Not an ideal setting for children due to extreme cliff down to the water.

Absolutely beautiful home

This is an absolutely amazing home with spectacular views. When it began to snow it felt like we were in a magnificent snow globe. The house is tastefully decorated. The renter anticipated our every need, we didn’t miss home at all. We were able to have an elegant birthday dinner utilizing the flatware and hollowware provided by the renter. I highly recommend this property. Great deal for the price.

Interesting house, perfect location

You can't get a better view from this house. It is right on the lake and it is on a cliff that is maybe 40 feet high. The house itself is unique---the old front is actually way over on the right side and you don't automatically even notice it. The home addition is most likely not that new, and it blends in with the old house very well. There are at least 4 "sitting" rooms on the first floor, so if you want a room all to yourself during the day, there will be no problem! Also, with more than 5000 square feet, there is plenty of space in the house! The kitchen is very well stocked with pots and pans and utensils. The living room is spacious and comfortable. All 4 bedrooms are nicely laid out. The grounds are very pretty. By the lake there were 2 2-man kayaks, which we used a lot. Big laundry room with nice washer and dryer. A couple of small things. We were there during a heat wave, which seem to be increasing in frequency and duration in New England, and the only air conditioner is downstairs, making for a few very warm evenings in the upstairs bedrooms. Also, there are no curtains in the bedrooms. The master bedroom faces the east, and on one particularly clear morning the sun was shining into our room at 5:55 am! So I would advise sleep masks. Overall, though, it is a great house and we had a wonderful time.

Beautiful location

This is a beautiful house in a wonderful location. The views are impressive. The commute to Burlington is less than half an hour. The biking on South Hero is great. We really enjoyed this house as a relaxing retreat yet close to all that Burlington has to offer.
