“From start to finish we were made to feel most welcome. Even on our morning walks the local drivers all waved and said good morning. We are from the UK and the US. This charming house provided us with a perfect base to explore the area and also hunker down and enjoy our family time. Joe and Carmen are the kindest hosts. “I have to preface this with an *. I had booked the gardener's cottage but there was some sort of booking mishap and the cottage was double booked. To their credit they gave me a room in the main house which was very nice. It was technically an up-grade and there was no charge. I would have like the solitude of the cottage, but I am not upset as I had a lovely time. You should most definitely get dinner. The food was exceptional. “Great, central location in Ireland. Could drive to Galway, Clanmacnoise, Rock of Cashel, Burren, Dublin area easily and be back. All within two hours, some even 20 minutes. Parking great and walked to pubs, music, groceries, etc. 8 family including kids. Kids loved the loft area and family loved main dining/living area. Beds basic and comfortable, price was great for family budget! Thanks Sean!”

“Yvonne and Peter couldn't be more accommodating! Yvonne met us to discuss the cottage. She had nice touches to make everything cozy. It was incredibly clean! We felt at home immediately! It was a wonderful base camp for Kilkenny and several other places. We loved Portlaoise and enjoyed several trips into town ( only a 10 minute drive) We loved their dogs and enjoyed spending time getting to know them. ( Our choice, they are very respectful of privacy) I absolutely recommend their place 100%!!”

“We love this hotel and we stay there at least once a year. The staff are very friendly and the food and accommodation is first rate. We also like the spa and gym. The only thing that did not seem to be happen was the point addition for 'The Club' scheme which staff did not seem to be aware of. One of them told me that the scheme was ending this month although I do not rememeber being notified of this. ”
