Contemporary "Maine Cottage” Ski + Swim

Little Loon Cottage is a newly built, architect-designed cottage overlooking beautiful Hosmer Pond just 3 miles from downtown Camden and adjacent to the Camden Snow Bowl (ski mountain) and the Ragged Mountain Recreation Area (hiking & biking trail network). The cottage is thoughtfully constructed with great flow, quality furnishings, and an all around fun vibe.

The cottage offers well balanced spaces that are both functional and attractive. The main level features a water view living room with over-sized windows and lots of sunshine. The space is cozy and comfortable with stuffed couch, chairs, and flat screen Smart TV. The kitchen features tasteful, cottage-style cabinetry, new appliances, and lovely granite counters--not too fancy but just right! Everything is crisp, clean, and high quality with vintage flairs of a classic "Maine camp". A retro dining table with seating for 4 is located between the living & kitchen areas and French doors from the kitchen lead out to a fabulous patio area (ready for the spring/summer season) with gorgeous views to the pond--perfect for an evening BBQ, or cocktails. The main level also features a tasteful mudroom/entry area with slate floors to kick off your shoes, or hang your towel or coat.

The upper floor offers 2 bedrooms. The queen master bedroom features a vaulted ceiling and bank of windows looking out at the pond and Snow Bowl mountain providing much light and an airy & open feel. The space is inviting and well appointed with cottage style wardrobes, desk area, and flat screen Smart TV. The rear bedroom offers two twin beds, desk area, and thoughtful decor. A custom bath with roomy shower and full laundry is located between the two upstairs bedrooms. There are attractive Bamboo floors throughout both levels.

Hosmer Pond is located across the street from the cottage and there is a private dock for swimming and boating or just lounging in the afternoons to watch the sun set. In winter, the pond freezes and offers winter sport activities like ice skating, XC skiing or fat tire biking in the vast network of trails in the area. Or just collect your downhill skis and hit the chairlift! The immediate area is an outdoor paradise in every season with 100's of acres of green space and miles of trails to explore--in addition to Hosmer Pond in your front yard! And Camden village is just 5 minutes away with restaurants, shops, and harbor activities.

Little Loon Cottage is comfortable no matter what season you visit with a central heating system and attractive gas "woodstove" for additional heat and ambiance in the colder months. There are ceiling fans in every room for the occasional "hot" summer day. There is high speed WIFI throughout and plenty of nooks to set up a laptop and "work" or stay connected with friends. Beds, linens, furniture & furnishings are all top notch--this is a well equipped, upscale property, with thoughtful execution in every way.

The cottage has additional room for storing bikes, kayaks, SUP's, skis or whatever you're into. Filled with sunshine, lovely art and new furnishings, Little Loon Cottage is sure to please! Outstanding in every way. Exceptionally appointed cottage. Has everything you will need. Very comfortable, and very close to Camden. Golf Course about a mile away. Great kayaking on Hosmer Pond and on nearby Megunticook Lake! You should stay here!!

Great Spot

Great location to see the sites in mid coast Maine. Beautiful hiking, paddling on small, quiet pond. House is clean and comfy but no AC. We were there on a very hot week and it was hot upstairs. Unusual for Maine, even in the summer. Traffic was noisy at night and crossing the street was tough at times. Overall, very nice camp and owners. We would stay there again.

Great cottage

Wonderful! The house is very well equipped with just about anything you need. The pond is lovely and we enjoyed sitting on the dock. Heard the lions almost every night. Beautiful views of the pond from the house. Easy access to hiking trails and downtown Camden. Great Farmer just down the road. Perfect!

Beautiful spot, Convenient

We’ve been staying in the Camden area for years but had to look for a different rental this summer due to COVID. This cottage was beautiful and really well appointed. The road can be a little busy and noisy, but the dock is sweet and the views both in and out of the house are great. We’d recommend to anyone who remembers to look both ways before crossing.

Quiet Stay

Really liked the cottage. Perfect size for the three of us. Loved heading down to the dock to enjoy the pond and sunset. We rented a kayak and two stand up paddle boards from a local outfitter and had a great time exploring the pond.

Cozy small family cottage

Super cute cottage that’s well set up and has all the basics for a great stay. We came with our nearly 1 year old and had a good time hanging out (and climbing the stairs) between adventures. Property is very close to the road, but wasn’t an issue for us. Easy access to Camden and a grocery store (Hannaford), as advertised.

Great little cottage on the pond!

We loved our stay here and will be back! The property owner was prompt in communicating and the property itself was clean, comfortable, and recently built! Access to the pond is too easy, and we rented a canoe and SUP from the local outdoor supply shop, and they also delivered it to our little dock directly! What a great vacation.

Fresh, new home with great amenities

This is a beautiful new home with no expense spared in construction/finishes. It is well laid out for a family of 4. We enjoyed the french doors out to the patio on the side of the house for coffee/drinks outside. Lovely view of the lake from the patio. Small dock directly across the street, where my husband enjoyed fishing. The home is a 5 minute drive to downtown Camden and the waterfront and a 5 minute walk to the Snow Bowl ski area, very convenient if you are looking for an out of town location, still close to everything. Brand new washer/dryer was a huge plus! The rental process was easy and communication was great as was the list of dining recommendations! The only downside was road noise. There is no A/C so we slept with the windows open and it was a bit loud when cars passed. Thank you for letting us use your lovely home!

Enjoyable stay would love to stay again!

The house looked and smelled new, it was tastefully decorated and with high end appliances, it had everything you need to get a start before we had time to go to the grocery store. We enjoyed the nice grill and cooked out twice. My daughter and her boyfriend got a 3 day Maine fishing license and caught 3 keepers while we were there. Only thing that could have made it perfect ( and we knew about it in advance) would have been at least a half bath down stairs. It was quiet and not that much traffic on the road, we actually heard the loons one night too, awesome!

This cottage was wonderful. We stay at VRBO rentals several times per year and this was one of our favorites. It is beyond clean and comfortable. Everything you need to cook and to relax. The finishes in this cottage are amazing and very high end. We will be back for sure.

Perfect Getaway!

My family of 3 stayed at Little Loon Cottage for the weekend of the 2018 U.S. Toboggan Championships. Kate was wonderful to work with in setting up our reservation and answering questions we had. The cottage is located across the street from Hosmer Pond, directly across from the toboggan chute at the Camden Snow Bowl. It was the perfect location for us to be able to walk to the festival, as well as frequent the shops and restaurants in downtown Camden (a short 5 minute drive) and Rockland (15 minute drive). Being that it was out of town, it was a peaceful place to relax. We were very impressed by the cleanliness of the cottage! It was well equipped with kitchenware, should you like to cook your own meals. We didn't, because we LOVE the food at Long Grain in Camden and Cafe Miranda in Rockland. (Sorry, I had to include this because they are both so delicious and not to be missed!) The beds and pillows were comfortable, as were the linens. And, I will mention again how clean it was! Though we prefer to travel to the mid-coast in the winter, off-tourist season, I think this would be a perfect place to spend some time in the summer as well. Great Cottage on a busy road.

We had a good stay at he Cottage,Everything is brand new and very tastefull and practical.This house has everything you need and some .Very confortable .The pond is great to swim in and relax ,gorgeous views,The only Negative was the busy road between the cottage and it's private dock on the pond.Traffic was loud and cars and truck drive fast ,not an ideal situation to let your kids loose. We rented in the summer, might be less traffic the rest of the year.

Impeccable detail, great views, easy pond access, new construction, all our needs were met!

We chose this property to be at Hosmer Pond, next to the Snow Bowl, and close to downtown Camden, for the weekend. The house was clean, charming, comfortable, well thought out-new construction, and was a perfect size for our family of four to enjoy a winter vacation. The house had everything we needed and the views (as well as the light), of both the mountain and the pond, made it feel expansive and like a true vacation weekend. The Pond access was directly across the street from the house, and we skated all weekend and watched the tobogganers come down the shoot from the Snow Bowl! We ski'd one day as well. We had a wonderful time in the Camden area and we are looking forward to returning to this house for a summer vacation on the pond to swim, kayak, SUP, or canoe!
