I recently stayed at Meriton Suites Canberra and, while the hotel itself is beautiful, modern, and in a great location, unfortunately, my overall experience was disappointing.
The room was spacious and well-equipped, and the amenities like the pool and gym were quite nice. However, during my stay, the sauna was out of order, which was a letdown. I also found the cleanliness of the room below expectations — there were noticeable finger marks on the windows and hair left in the sink, which really shouldn't happen at this level of accommodation.
One of the biggest drawbacks was the service. I found the staff to be uninformed and unhelpful, and it made the experience feel far less welcoming. Good service can make or break a hotel stay, and sadly, it left a sour taste, to the point that I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
Additionally, the parking was quite expensive for Canberra, and for the price paid, I expected a much higher standard across all areas.
Overall, while the hotel looks the part, the poor service and lack of attention to detail made it a disappointing stay.
