Amazing setting. Very disappointed with room. We paid for Superior Double and out in a Classic room. The photos of our classic room was shown on several websites as a Classic. When I queried this they said it was a superior room. That the photos of our room was mistakes. Within minutes our room photo disappeared completely from the websites. Everything else about hotel was lovely. But our room very disappointing. Very dusty, had problem with flushing toilet and when windy the ceiling tiles in bathroom were lifting and clanging. I asked for a refund on room but not given. Allowed us free parking. Did offer to put us in a superior room but we only had one more day so too much hassle.

Hotel wonderfully situated. Room had enough space. Bathroom was large. We chose to add breakfast which had a lot of options: eggs, bacon, cold meats and cheeses, breads, pastries, cereal, yogurt, fruit and juices. The staff overall were very friendly and helpful, however I booked the deluxe room and when i got into the room it looked like the pictures of the cheaper classic room. My room description had a bathtub and we had no bathtub. The pictures of the deluxe room also had an outside sitting area and we only had a juliet balcony. I asked the front staff and they said it was about the size of the room not the amenities. I didnt see another room so i don't know if i was lied to but the pictures of my room look like the classic room.

Our room was in the annexe across the street from the main hotel. This was not mentioned on Expedia and certainly detracted from our enjoyment not feeling the ambience of what is a good hotel. The room was clean but the description’Superior’ is deceptive for what I consider to be a very average room. The hotel was clean in a good position inside the walls and the breakfast was good. The Hôtel restaurant next door was also very good.

From the free shuttle car service to the hotel, to the warm and professional service from the staff - this hotel is top notch. My room, number 36, did smell very strongly of fresh paint and the radiator in the bathroom had an extremely rusty pipe. The bed was very comfortable, no other windows looked in on my room, which I really liked. Breakfast was great, good choices. The hotel kindly stored my case whilst I explored the city more after checking out, I really appreciated this. I would definitely stay again.

Loved Carcasonne. Hotel room was up many many stairs so for elderly it was not a reasonable choice. The village was amazing, restaurants excellent and the hotel was charming.

The Hotel Le Donjon is one of the most unique places I've ever stayed. It was a great experience. From our room we could see the Chateau Comtal, the castle of Carcassonne. The hotel is right in the middle of La Cite Medievale, near the Aude Gate. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. It was great staying in the walled city. We could bring our purchases back to the room easily. The hotel also has a secured parking lot that it shares with the nearby Hotel de La Cite. We would definitely stay here again and request the same room!

Le plus gros avantage de cet hôtel est d'être au cœur de la cité médiévale de Carcassonne. En contre-partie: - le stationnement est à l'extérieur de la Cité (et sur réservation - nombre de places limitées, encore plus si vous avez une électrique à recharger), mais à seulement 5 minutes de marche de l'hôtel, et vos bagages sont pris en charge jusqu'à votre chambre (très pratique). - L'hôtel est contraint par la vieille bâtisse où il se trouve, donc les ascenseurs sont tout petits, et peu nombreux pour un hôtel qui s'étale sur plusieurs bâtiments. Mais ils existent! Ce que nous avons aimé: - la cour / jardin, agréable sensation de calme alors qu'on est au cœur même de la Cité; - la vue depuis la chambre sur le château; - être au cœur de la Cité, y passer tous les jours, en profiter pleinement sans courir d'attractions en attractions pendant une journée. Les bémols (pour nous; rappelons que c'est un hôtel 4 étoiles): - le personnel parfois hautain et peu disponible; - la toute petite baignoire; - le ménage à l'entrée dans la chambre moyennement fait (il y avait franchement de la poussière à des endroits accessibles); - l'absence de réfrigérateur dans la chambre; - aucune patère ou porte-manteau dans la chambre; - très peu d'éclairage dans la chambre.
