“This was our first time to Normandy and we arrived via ferry at Cherbourg. We rented a car and drove to the home. We had great communication with the family to coordinate our arrival and they were there to greet us which was lovely. They shared the history of the home as well as shared some places to eat nearby.We had booked a guide to tour the D-day sites who picked us up at the house so that was great as well. When we departed we drove to Caen and dropped off the car as that was the nearest……

“Wir haben in einer Woche von Mont st. Michel bis Cherbourg die West- und Ostseite der Normandie bereist. Viele zauberhafte Orte, Barfleur, als einen genannt. Das Haus ist sehr großzügig mit viel Platz und einem tollen außen Bereich. Vielleicht wäre anzumerken, das das Haus wohl von der Familie selbst bewohnt wird und in Vermietungszeiten, Platz für Gäste geschaffen wird und das die Sauberkeit etwas zu kurz dabei gekommen ist. Aber das nur als kleiner Hinweis. Sonst liegt es absolut ruhig und ist……

“Il faut bien dormir quelque part lorsque l'on ne peut pas rentrer chez soi. Hotel pas cher mais c'est vraiment basic. Accueil sympatique. L'eau chaud à mis beaucoup de temps à arriver, l'oreiller a la taille d'un petit coussin de canapé, Le chauffage d'appoint posé au sol sans pied ni roulette chauffe mais c'est dommage de ne pas utiliser les radiateurs principaux. La grande fenètre sans rideau....ha oui il faut fermer le volet ! minimum ! Restaurant était correct. Petit déjeuner dans l'hotel……
