I recently stayed at the Hilton Cartagena with my family, and while there were some nice aspects to our visit, I feel compelled to share my concerns. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, which made our experience more enjoyable. However, there were several issues that detracted from our overall stay.
Firstly, the pool area had some maintenance issues, as the tiles were falling apart. Even my 10-year-old kids noticed this as they brought me pieces, and it was a bit disconcerting. I tried to overlook it, but it should definitely be addressed. Additionally, we stayed in room 1052, which had a lovely balcony. Unfortunately, we couldn't fully enjoy it because pieces of the hotel roof fell on us while we were trying to take in the skyline. The Sud and grime from the roof ended up ruining my swim shorts.
Another oddity was the ice machine on our floor, which never worked. It was surprising, especially since we were on the same floor as the presidential suite. The room service was great, but the menu felt quite limited and lacked variety.
Breakfast was another letdown; the buffet didn't include basic items like bacon or sausages and missed the chance to showcase local breakfast favorites.
The "kids place" was disappointing as well. It offered little more than gum and candy in a dirty room that didn't feel inviting for kids. While the PS5 consoles were a nice idea, unfortunately, none of them were functional during our stay.
