I cannot begin to tell you how much I loved this hotel!! Upon booking, they reached out to me with helpful information and offered transportation from the airport, the pick up went smoothly and was super convenient after a long flight. Staff was incredibly friendly and they truly went above and beyond with their attention to detail. Breakfast was AMAZING, the array of fruits and variety of food items was delicious. Room was spacious and clean, we had a wonderful view of the plaza outside. Bed was comfortable too. They had me at the rooftop poolside bar, the drinks were top notch and food options were great. It was the kind of vibe that made me want to stay there all day even with all the restaurant and bar options outside. Once again, I will mention how great the staff was - they really made my stay so enjoyable and I cannot wait to go back. Would one thousand percent recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cartagena.

Our experience was phenomenal at this hotel. The staff was incredibly nice & attentive; their attention to detail was the best! I was part of a group of 10 people celebrating my husband’s milestone birthday & they made sure we had anything we needed at all times. Our Hagia Sophia suite was incredibly clean and being next door to the pool and bar area was so convenient. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone. What a great time here!

This property is beautiful, the staff helpful and courteous. My only complaint is that we booked the 4th floor room with terrace, which had only 2 chairs on it and no awning for shade, rendering it mostly useless. It does not look at all like the pictures on the site or Expedia's site. Other than that we would definitely stay here again. The pool area/rooftop bar is fantastic.

Our stay at the Sophia Hotel was amazing; the hotel itself is beautiful inside, but you can't top the view from the rooftop. Everyone at Sophia Hotel is very kind and welcoming. The staff made us feel special with joyful greetings every day, arranging taxis for us, and remembering our coffee orders and room number. The cooks are also incredible - the food at every meal was always fresh and delicious, and the complimentary breakfast is outstanding. This is the best hotel when staying in Cartagena, a luxury experience while still making you feel at home!

Lovely hotel well located very close to all the major sites - all walkable. Cooked to order breakfast with huge fruit buffet was wonderful each morning! Staff very helpful - thanks Fabio - excellent restaurant recommendations and assistance. Had a spacious and quiet room on the third floor. We would definitely return!

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. The staff was wonderful. And the hotel was beautiful. I loved its vibe and the fact that it was a boutique hotel. The customer service was so much more personal. From the tasty treats they would leave each day to the meticulous cleaning. I lost a tiny piercing one day and once I got to my room they had left it on my nightstand. I had spend all morning looking for it. Thank you Sophia for such a wonderful experience.

This hotel was very charming with large, well equipped rooms. Very comfortable, good a/c. The dining room was quaint with a nice breakfast, a combination of buffet style and a la carte items were included. Our favourite place was the rooftop patio - excellent view, cocktails and food. The location was excellent, just steps from the busy streets of the walled city. Tons to see within a 10 minute walk. I can’t say enough great things about our stay - would come back in a heartbeat.

The Sofia hotel was nice and staff was great. There are some things that in my opinion could be improved such as the breakfast options and the music on the patio. The hotel caters to foreigners and doesn’t embrace the Colombian culture although it’s in a great area. They play a lot of house music and it was a little annoying because you visit Colombia for their music and culture. The breakfast options were limited compared to the 5 hotels we visited prior in Colombia. The area is nice but not enjoyable because there’s always someone asking for money. Out of all the places visited the people in Cartagena was the less friendliest. While I understand the patio is open to the public, I believe the people who stay there should be treated respectfully. On the first night we went up with a complimentary ticket and the staff seem annoyed with our presence . Before he ask if he could help us he ask if we were staying there or not.

Finger weg von diesem Hotel!! An meinem Fenster haben unten die Pferde Urin hinterlassen. Auf meine Nachfrage beim Hotelpersonal wurde mir gesagt, das stinkt nicht mehr wenn es geregnet hat. Das Frühstück war ein großer Witz. Man wurde beim Check Out genötigt die Kreditkarte zu verwenden, zur Abbuchung der Mehrwertsteuer, die aber für Touristen in Kolumbien gar nicht berechnet werden dürfen. Mittlerweile haben wir Rechtsanwälte eingeschaltet.
