I booked the room for 1 night for my son & his family because my grandson had a baseball tournament in the area. The price was very reasonable, especially for a Saturday night, so their expectations were not very high, they just needed a bed for the night, & planned to use the pool a bit, but they were quite blindsided by the complete lack of customer service they received. When checking in they were treated as though they were interrupting the front desk clerk who was much more concerned with her phone than with assisting them. She literally looked up at them & then looked right back down at her phone for at least a full minute before checking them in, and no apology given, nor a greeting, nothing! Then they went to the pool & found no towels so they had to go back to the same clerk, who was back on her phone, and they received the exact same treatment. It took her at least 5 minutes to acknowledge their request for towels & again no apology, no greeting, nothing. In their room they were quite disgusted to see a colony of ants they can only assume were either due to the old food or the disgusting fingernail clippings they found inside the dresser drawers, but they just dealt with it on their own. You can imagine, after 2 very unpleasant interactions w/the front desk clerk already, they simply had no desire to bother her again. Clearly, her phone took precedence over her job! I strongly suggest management review the cell phone policy & start ensuring employees adhere to it!
