“The Rustic Rook Resort is a fabulous new addition to the Yurt/Bin wave of alternative to hotel stays. It is just a few miles from the Great Sand Dunes National Park that is simply awe inspiring and has fabulous sledding on the Dunes for the entire family. Excellent dining is about 20 minutes away in downtown Alamosa. The stars at night are incredible. We stayed in a Bin, which was less rustic than the name would imply. It was perfect for my husband and I, and our dog. We wouldn't hesitate……

“This was an amazing place to stay. The pictures do not do the views justice. Everything was well stocked and every need anticipated. My bed even had heated blankets. The outdoor space was amazing and if you want to take a challenging walk in the mountain air, you are in the right place. We will be back! ”

We drove to the Colorado Gator Farm and were not Disappointed. Rescue reptiles in Colorado so cool! We would defiantly stay……

“We absolutely loved our time here and could not recommend it enough. The location and size was perfect and the unit was clean and inviting. The host, Erin, was very responsive and they stocked up the unit with games and many other needed accommodations. This was about a 50 minute drive to the Sand Dunes which was the perfect distance to be able to visit while still enjoying the peacefulness of Crestone. Cannot recommend this place enough.”

“We came to hike and visit the sand dunes but the weather didn’t cooperate so we spent a lot of time at the property soaking in the hot tub, relaxing, and just enjoying life. Everything we needed was there, plus extras. Great place in an interesting area. ”

Mountain views from every window, showers and giant soaking tubs in both bathrooms in the main house, and 2 additional bedrooms plus a full bathroom in the adjacent studio. “Wow! What a unique place!! Nothing I have ever seen, but a great concept. Wish we could have seen a movie but not in season yet:) about 45min from Great Sand Dunes NP. The drive here was amazing too. Out in the middle of nowhere:) I only gave it a 4 for surrounding area since they are in middle of construction but I’m sure it’ll be fine soon. Luke was very helpful:)”
