The property was very beautiful and clean. The coffee in the lobby was nice. The hotel is located right in the shopping district, which was nice. We weren't told there was a bus that picked up and dropped off free of charge, I was informed of that from a couple in the elevator on our last day. There wasn't a concierge to help with activities or questions. The room was small and our toilet never flushed all the way. The staff was very friendly! It wasn't what I expected but I'm thinking because it was an historical hotel so rooms and bathrooms were small.

The Francis Marion hotel is a beautiful historic hotel in Charleston, SC! Every member of their staff was so kind, helpful, and happy! The room was just the right size! The bathroom was a little small. We stayed in a 2-bedroom queen. The views from our room were beautiful! We walked EVERYWHERE! King St is in a great location! There is a free bus that stops right by the hotel! I would recommend parking at a nearby lot that we found out was free on our last day! The parking garage is not affiliated with the hotel, does not allow the ability to come & go, & the hours start over at midnight. $24/8 hours. If you take the car out at 10 and bring it back at 6, you’ll pay $24 on your way out. The next day you’ll owe $18 for those 6 hours (6-midnight). Just a heads up! This wouldn’t stop us from visiting again, we’d just plan our parking better!

Latisha was a wonderful professional and kindly assisted us when we had several room issues. The property is historic and old which can sometimes cause malfunctions such as our plumbing issues but the staff was beyond helpful and accommodating.

The Francis Marion is an excellent place if you’re coming to Charleston. It’s in the middle of everything and you can walk anywhere. The staff is attentive and friendly. The rooms are spacious and clean and always have enough towels and excellent toiletries. The restaurant at the property is great and there’s a Starbucks on property as well. They always have chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon, which is a treat and they are happy to provide water for your room at no extra charge as much as you want. If you’re going to Charleston, this is the place to stay.

What an awesome place! We usually stay at the Historic Inn. This was less expensive, cleaner, and totally fun. We have found our Annapolis hotel. You DO need to drive into town, so that’s a consideration but we really enjoyed this spot.

The most comfortable bed ever with quality bedding. The hotel was so quiet. Location was central to everything. Less than a 15 minute walk to many restaurants and shopping and activities. Hotel is historic and has nice high ceilings even in the rooms. The bathroom was tiny but they provided a lighted make up in the room at the desk so getting ready was easy. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast a the food was really good. I would stay they again for sure.

Both concierge’s were wonderful! They were knowledgeable and beyond helpful as it was my first time in Charleston. All of the staff I interacted with were so professional and kind. My room was very dark and the lights/outlets/power strips kept going out, and flickering on and off as if there was a short. I was only able to use the lamp outlets which was very inconvenient.
