Ridgeview Cottage: Mtn Views and Mins to Cville!

Scenic Gem! Wineries, Foxfield, Mountain Views, and 20 minutes to UVA grounds! Ridgeview Cottage is a pool house located at a primary residence. Rest assured, the property offers privacy and guests will have full, private access to the pool and outdoor spaces. The cottage is one level and the layout of the unit is described below:

LIVING ROOM: Queen sleeper sofa, bar area with shaker set and various drinking glasses, two armchairs, smart TV (please login to your own streaming services), coffee table, and games (Chess, Scrabble, and a deck of cards).

DINING AREA: Dining table with 4 chairs. 4 additional barstools are offered at the kitchen bar.

KITCHEN: Fully stocked kitchen with full size appliances (fridge and dishwasher, but please note that this unit does NOT have a stove/oven. A two burner hot plate is provided on the counter under the hood vent), microwave, toaster, and drip coffee maker (coffee and creamer provided).

BEDROOM: King bed, two nightstands with lamps, DOHM sound machine, diffuser with essential oil, dresser, full-length mirror, and WFH space (desk with plugs and charging station and desk chair), robes, and walk-in closet with stacked washer and dryer.

BATHROOM: Full bathroom with stall-style shower.

OUTSIDE: Fire pit, grill, saltwater pool with water slide (open early May- mid September), and plenty of outdoor seating.

NOTE: The pool will close mid September and reopen mid to late May.

Again, please note that the primary owner of this property does live in the main house, but guests will have complete privacy during their stay.

NOTE: The pool will close mid September and reopen in mid May, both dependant on weather. Opening is further dependent on chemical balancing.

There is an exterior Ring camera mounted by the guest entry.

Thanksgiving in Charlottesville

Well appointed, clean and cozy apartment on very quiet property with a lovely view. Comfortable beds, pillows and linens and fully stocked kitchenette. Big screen TV was nice but no LIVE tv access for Thanksgiving weekend sports was disappointing. We recommend this rental and would stay again. thanks!

Resort like stay with awesome views

It’s perfect for a family of 4 or two couples. The pool is amazing, the ambiance, the lighting just perfect for pictures. Also, the cottage equipped with everything needed. We were able to get instacart & DoorDash to deliver. Good time in deed and plan on going back next year for sure.

Great Get-Away!

The cottage was beautiful. Very nicely decorated, had many amenities, like bathrobes, which we loved. It’s the little things :-) The WiFi was great, which was important to us, because we worked from there. It is in a perfect location between downtown Charlottesville and all the wineries. The property manager was very quick to reply to all my questions, which I really appreciated. Highly recommend, and we will definitely be back!

Beautiful and clean!

We loved this place — clean, modern, spacious. Easy check in process. 20 min from town. Would love to come back earlier in the season when we can use the pool. Only disappointment was that there was a fire pit we wanted to use, but wood / what you need is not provided. But overall loved our stay!

Misleading yet comfortable

The first day was bad. Our check in was at 4. We arrived at 410pm and there were 5 or 6 people in the pool. They saw my car pull in and started to jump out, ran into the house. I went to the front door of the main house bc I couldn’t see the actual “cottage”, just a house and 3 car garage. I also wanted to be sure we were at the correct house. After ringing the doorbell, no answer, then knocking, I backed off the porch. A few seconds later I started walking off the front sidewalk back to the driveway and a few of the older children and a male adult from the pool came out of the front door and he got uncomfortably close to me and started touching my back twice as I kept backing up. He was obviously very inebriated. His speech was extremely slurred so I had him repeat what he said. One of the girls with him yelled out “this is our house, this isn’t your house”. Such an uncomfortable experience and I’ve been to maybe 20 rental homes, 4 of which just in the last year or two. The pool house (this is in no way a cottage) was cute inside and comfortable. And although the vrbo profile and details state we have full private access to the pool and all outdoor areas, we felt odd as if we were now being watched and the whole experience at the start tainted our first day. Not to mention the fact that they are falsely advertising privacy of the pool and all outdoor areas. If you know going into it that it is not private, then it’s a nice stay.

Wonderful Cottage

This was a wonderful little cottage to stay at! The location was perfect and very convenient to Charlottesville and many wineries! This cottage had absolutely everything we needed and more and was very clean. We would love to stay here again!

Beautiful getaway in Charlottesville!

We visit Cville quite often and this was by far the best stay we’ve had in the past couple of years. The property was absolutely beautiful and peaceful and we actually looked forward to coming home every night! The contact for the hosts was extremely responsive and accommodating, as were the hosts themselves. We were also able to use the fire pit every night and were so excited to meet their three doggies! (The hosts are very thoughtful about this as well, they initially put them back inside but we told them it’s completely fine to keep them out as we love dogs, so don’t worry if you don’t feel comfortable with animals!) The house is situated approximately 15 - 30 minutes from the best wineries and breweries and 20 minutes from downtown Charlottesville. The only minuscule thing I would add is that it would be great to add a light on the side of the house where the fire pit is because it does get pretty dark, but I get that that could also be on purpose so the stars are more visible (this had zero impact on the overall experience and the area is extremely safe). Thank you for an absolutely wonderful stay, we’d love to come back!
