We traveled through 6 cities in Morocco and the Taj was our favorite hotel, which frankly made the experience at Chefchaouen, a low economic village. It’s a stunning hotel and nothing short of a 5 star rating as far as aesthetics and architecture goes.
It’s clean and our junior suite offered stunning views where we had breakfast, dinner, and tea throughout the day. The parking lot makes it accessible to head up and down to town without climbing the stairs, although that only took 15-20 minutes.
•The amenities: some under construction still as it’s a new hotel. We did hang at the pool one of the days and it’s unusable. It’s not heated, but the cold tiles keep it freezing cold. It’s more of a cold plunge.
•The staff: helpful, though some from the dining restaurant are unfriendly.
If this is a consideration to you - please note that the Taj is not a part of ethical traveling. You’re staying in a low economic village where people struggle to earn $1 USD, while paying $200+ per night for the hotel. We heavily felt the discrepancy in expense VS town’s economy and it made us quite sad.
