Location is great

Moutain retreat

Very little info from supposedly "contact" person when needed to know necessary TV information, no code given in order to enter club like other renters had. Understand no smoking inside rule, however, OUTSIDE of the cabin should certainly not be a restriction. Tried several times to put key back in the box when leaving but the box would not close properly, therefore left key under mat.

I have vacationed in the Cashiers area for 40 years and have always wanted to stay on the beautiful ridge where the cabin is located. It was even better than I'd hoped! The Chinquapin community includes 2,000 acres of lovely natural areas with trails, waterfalls, conservation lands, and thoughtfully planned neighborhoods. The cabin is walking distance from "The Outpost", Chinquapin's community gathering area for concerts, cookouts, and lawn games. The Chinquapin property abuts the spectacular 6,300-acre Panthertown Valley recreation area, with 30 miles of Nantahala National Forest trails. The cabin itself was more than cozy with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and 3 wonderful outdoor porches and decks. The cabin was very bright and clean, and felt plenty spacious during my month-long stay. The owner was immediately responsive when I had questions and reached out to make sure I was aware of and included in community events. It was easy to meet neighbors but the cabin was also private and peaceful. It was a great combination of community and retreat - I will be back!

Convenient for hiking

This was our second stay in the Chinquapin neighborhood. The proximity to trailheads and short drive to provisions make it a great place to stay. The cabin was tidy and well appointed, and not so full with owners' items that it felt crowded. Being January, there were very few people around, so it was very quiet. The host team answered the phone when I needed the code to the Chinquapin gate. The primary bed is quite soft. The fireplace is unvented, so unless it's mild enough to make cracking a window reasonable, you may not want to use it. If you're looking for a good basecamp, I would recommend this cabin.

A Little Slice of Heaven!!!

This unit was immaculately clean and stocked great, even for us Cajun cooks!! The entire property is beautiful, we had a stocked driving range all to ourself, putt putt, and pickle ball, the common area “The Outpost” is gorgeous, has workout facilities, sundries and beautiful covered seating, outdoor grill, massive fireplace, great for entertaining a large group. We’re already planning for a repeat trip here next year.

Lovely cabin in a peaceful area

My husband and I stayed in this cabin in April. The cabin is so lovely, and extremely peaceful. When you walk outside it is so quite, truly no noise can be heard. ❤️ a great place to reconnect with family and enjoy the most beautiful surroundings.

Great Cabin!

My husband and I thought the cabin was great. We couldn’t get over all the supplies it had, i.e, hand soap, shower gel, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, etc. You pretty much just pack your clothes to stay here. Ha! The decor was fabulous. We also felt we had privacy. Actually, sitting outside was incredibly peaceful! The location is great; close to Cashiers and horseback riding. We would absolutely stay here again.

What a GREAT Place

My husband and I stayed in this beautiful, clean, well stocked cabin for four nights. Everything about it was lovely. We very much enjoyed the font porch. It got us away from the every day hustle and bustle. Enjoyed just kicking back, reading, watching deer walk through the back yard, walks, etc. . A wonderful place to stay.

Unacceptable attitude of the person managing our stay.

The cabin was significantly smaller that expected, based on the online pictures. But the main problem was the stay manager. We received a very rude and threatening text message after our stay about some unspecified problem with the tv and that we did not do some totally unspecified action on our departure. She then stated that she would black ball us from all other rental properties in the area if we don’t "explain ourselves". Sounds like an extortion attempt. Suggest all others select a different property when visiting the waterfalls around Cashiers NC.

Quite Birthday Getaway

This Beautiful Cabin was comfortable cozy for the 4 of us... even though it was alittle bit up in the mountains it still was perfect location for near by restaurants in cashier NC approx. 10 min, also nearby by hiking, fishing and Waterfalls We truly enjoyed our stay.

Quiet Getaway near Cashiers

Peaceful, quiet and a great nature setting. Plenty of deer, a bear made his visit after dark. The ponds reminded me of Thoreau's hideaway, without the fish. Cool mornings were enjoyed with a cup of java on the porch, slowly tuning nature in. Amenities center gave us an enjoyable change, even tho I didn't win at putt-putt. Thanks again.

Nice place. Fairly small rooms. Fine for a weekend. I recieved four codes for the gate and lockbox. Only needed 2. Unnecessary confusion. That should be easy to resolve.

July 4th Weekend

We enjoyed our stay in the Backwoods cottage. It is a trek up windy two lane roads, but the property & surroundings are beautiful. The cottage appears more spacious online… It’s a tight fit for 4 adults, in particular the second bath and bedroom (cannot hold two suitcases which ended up being placed in the hallway). Suggested improvements: Need more drinking glasses (3 in cabinet), REPLACE KING BED (super soft as we’ve been experiencing back pain even days after we left), keep outdoor sofa cushions in screened porch (they were soaked by rain before our arrival & never dried out). Access to the outpost was restricted (couldn’t access the fitness center, indoor community center with bar, etc.).

Darling cabin

This darling cabin was a fun place to stay! Very well equipped with everything you would need. The king bed was very comfy. Wish we had know exactly where the “Outpost “ was. Didn’t find it until checkout (trash) because we thought maybe it was behind another locked gate. Might have used the driving range...disappointed!
