The main reason I booked this hotel was because of the rooftop pool. It was sunny and in the 90s and the pool is closed for maintenance. I did not see this when I booked, as it was not posted on Expedia. I think the resort should have done something for the guests since a main feature was closed off. Low rating for this reason only.

The location was good. Two blocks off Michigan Ave and three blocks from the Pier. There are restaurant choices within a few blocks all the way around. The staff in the dining room were great. Food was good. Prices on the higher side. I wish the hotel offered shuttle service to and from the airport. I also wish that the pool closure would have been communicated prior to our stay because the convenience of the pool was a major point of staying here. As it was, it had been closed for several weeks prior and plans to be closed until mid July. There aren't any options for drinks/snacks or coffee outside of the dining room hours unless you go the the store next door (closes at 11p). (There are in room coffee pots but we do not use them) The common area in the lobby gets crowded without the dining room open for additional seating. And, if you pay in full prior to going, they will request a credit card at check in and charge $375 to hold until you check out for any dining room charges, snacks, etc. Overall, our stay was good, but not excellent.

Unfortunately, we had chosen this property specifically because of the advertised pool Which was close for a maintenance on the hottest day !! It would have been helpful. If the hotel had notified guest ahead of time, or at least offered a small discount or alternative. It was a mile stone birthday and our plans were based around the pool since it was going to be 95+ degrees in Chicago. We had to make other arrangements to keep cool . Please call ahead of time to make sure amenities are available.

We booked this hotel for the pool- it's closed until July. Expedia did not share it was closed on the website. The customer service person was rude. The lines for the elevators were long. At breakfast, we had to go ask the staff if they would take our order. They apologized and said they forgot about us. I was poured coffee and i said, no thank you. I got it anyways and was charged $5 for a cup of coffee i didn't order or drink. Stay somewhere else.

The property was nice and clean. We weren’t able to utilize the pool due to maintenance. This was a little frustrating due to the fact that was one of the reason we solely chose this hotel and then we were never told until we asked if we could utilize it. We also were told we had free breakfast which was not true. Last but not least, we had banging every night that kept us awake that was coming from the construction next to our room. This was also a little frustrating because my son is autistic and hard to calm and get back to sleep when i’d disrupted. I’m not sure i’d stay again due to these things.

Excellent, very accommodating staff. Our room showed a little bit of age and wasn't vacuumed recently, so there were crumbs on the floor. You could hear conversations through the bathroom vents. Pool and outside space is not open, which was a bummer. Outside of all of that, location is amazing, staff is awesome and hotel is nice.

Our room was quiet, nice, and perfect for our needs. The elevators were pretty slow, and our bathroom sink drain was clogged and wouldn’t drain, so I took one star off for that.
